WOW. What are the chances that a 72 year old vacuum survived all these years and never even got unpacked?!

    Eureka Sweet Sixteen Canisters

Wow, Eurekaprince, good catch. I didn't notice the omissions in the pictures. I personally never cared for the Vibra-Beat attachment. It always seemed gimmicky and noisy. In '72, I bought a new Model 1260 Power Team. I liked the cord reel and electrified hose, though you had to string the leader...

    Royal Straight Suction Year

Wow, thanks Jeff and Bikerray. That's great information. Especially, the part about being able to choose a refrigerator, vacuum cleaner or sewing machine. I wonder if the refrigerator and sewing machine were badged "Packard"?

    Royal Straight Suction Year

I have a friend who has a Royal straight suction upright, Model 1948. It has the usual black/red bag design and belt port at the front. Does anyone have any idea what years this vacuum might have been made? Sorry, no picture. I'm guessing sometime in the 20s or 30s. Would anyone know? Thanks in...

American Vacuum Cleaner Co Looking For Information

The Ideal... This one, undated, is probably from Spring 1910. It indicates that the electric version price will be increased by $5.00 "after June first next".

American Vacuum Cleaner Co Looking For Information

The Ideal... I have some ads for The Ideal, made by The American Vacuum Cleaner Co., on West 33rd St. in New York City. This first one is from Good Housekeeping, published in June of 1908. As you can see, there was also an electric version of The Ideal as well.

    The Hurley Thor!

Hoover300: They do say in this brochure that the 12 has a 12" wide nozzle. But you're right, the 5 doesn't look small enough to be a 5" nozzle. It could just be a marketing ploy for the later 12, if it was made after the 5. I noticed also that it says that 300,000 American women are satisfied...
