Electrolux Guardian Ultra & Platinum - Multiple Qs

Great idea! Thanks. Same number of pieces, but all the pieces would be useful!

Electrolux Guardian Ultra & Platinum - Multiple Qs

I am so wrong. The Guardian Platinum will indeed close and even RUN without a bag. It will not run without the filter under the bag. Sorry for passing on bad info. Jay

    North Texas Mini-Meet 11/8/2014

Vacuum Friends Just wanted to add my two cents to Sean's Mini-Meet. I left Sean's house rejuvenated and am finally finishing the newsletter that will archive the events from the VCCC Convention last June. At Sean's the lunch and dinner conversations took tangents from vacuums to our diverse...

Electrolux Guardian Ultra & Platinum - Multiple Qs

Owner's Manual Issue My Guardian Platinum does indeed allow the door to shut without a bag, but it will not run. I checked two different printings of the manual, and they are both incorrect. Love the machine. A bit disappointed with the Aerus parts of it--the heavy and clunky hose handle...

    LEAD IN VACUUM'S?

Weight to counterbalance machine start? Years ago, one of the guys on Car Talk said that he removed a lead weight from his wife's vacuum because the vacuum was too heavy. The purpose of the weight was to give the vacuum some heft to keep it steady against the startup torque. The topic stuck...

TO BE INTRODUCED IN JANUARY, AERUS GUARDIAN PLATINUM.

Tristar is made by Aerus Yes, indeed, Aerus markets both the Aerus and Tristar lines. Attachments, hose connections are very similar.

    Straight-suction Uprights

Are there any recently manufactured straight-suction uprights? I seem to remember that Royal still offered one, but I can no longer find it on their website. At the VCCC Convention, I was intrigued by the cleaning power of the vintage uprights without a brush roll. If there are no recent...

    Plastic body Electrolux canister switch

On Off Switch These switches were high-failure-rate items, and I'm pretty confident you can easily find replacements online or at reputable shops. Good Luck, Jay

    Church Vacuums

Great Advice! Mike's Port-a-Vac is ingenious. A perfect solution for many situations, but our church is small. The sexton had a long list of what she likes about the ProLux, so the best option, after hearing from you all, seems to be to rebuild the ProLux. I believe the biggest problem is...

    Church Vacuums

I was approached by the sexton of our church about replacing an old commercial Elecrolux. She said she loves the vacuum, but it has seen better days. Does anyone have experience with the blue knock-off Prolux vacuums? Are they as good as the originals they replaced? The church is small, and...

    Hoover Dustette

Dustette and National Trust Sorry I can't help, but I learned of the Hoover Dustette while reading the National Trust Manual of Housekeeping, first published in 1984. I love the National Trust (and English Heritage) and am in awe of how clean they keep those stately homes. Thanks for the post...

Aerus Guardian vs Perfect power team

imPerfect Had a disappointing experience with the Perfect power team. The strong suction and stiff-bristled power nozzle were nice, but the inferior quality was evident all over. Parts that were never an issue with the Electrolux failed on the Perfect system in very little time. The swivel...

    Panasonic 40 & 50 series

Headlight Very nice vacuums, and I love the cord winder! However, why do European uprights and power nozzles rarely have headlights? That extra bit of light is helpful to me. I can't imagine a bit of extra light in Cheshire, Lancashire or even in Prague wouldn't be helpful there also. Why...

    Mini-PN for TriStar CXL?

Mini-Power Nozzle by Wesselwerk I've been looking at this one for a while. There is another one out there that looks just like the first model of sidekick, with a pigtail cord, but I can't seem to find it tonight. Good Luck, Jay

Different Power Nozzle...Different Dirt Picked Up

Has anyone else noticed how changing power nozzles can result in a suddenly large amount of dirt being picked up? Maybe it is the different frequency of excitation by the different power nozzle designs, but I am always amazed at the difference when I occasionally change machines. Jay

    Old Floor Nozzle

Eureka Nutone Floor Nozzles You can find these periodically on E-Bay, but you might have to buy them attached to a cheap Eureka canister from the 60's. I didn't see any tonight, but if you are patient, you might find them. I always thought that floor nozzle, with the curved wand, was elegant...
