    Commercial Vacuums

As a side note, in the UK some people with certain disabilities can be issued with driving licences at 16... :) I have the same opinion of chavs in their junkbox cars scraping along the ground, I'd rather see the cars go through a crusher than allow them on the roads, it gives a bad name to...

    Kirby Dirt Meter Setup

Yup, you use the dirt meters in place of the bag and vacuum as normal, using the glass window in the Kirby meters as an aid to showing how much it's picking up, and the Baird meters are just miniature bags when in use, nothing more to it really... :&#92 Helps to be the son of an ex-Kirby...

"and enough spotlights to light a small city" I recall a 2CV I saw on the web years ago that had about 20 or 30 spotlights fitted to the front.... :P

Top Fill Or Bottom Fill Bags?

"I use Electrolux C12/Columbus Dixon/Sanitaire style bag Are they the standard bags or Filteraire bags? The latter tend to be better at filtering, as they have a micro lining on the inside, though the genuine ST bags are much better, but they won't fit in a Hoover... Also, for those who don't...

    Why Maintain a Rainbow?

"Directed at a Dyson ?" Nope, at an ant army in the yard of my 2nd house, very effective, if a bit too smoky... :P

    Why Maintain a Rainbow?

Try using the 3-in-1 on your hinges, you'll never use WD-40 again... :P The last time I used WD-40 was as a flamethrower, but the smoke was a bit much, so that was another use out the window... :P

    Commercial Vacuums

There was someone selling one of them Columbus Dixon Eurekalux vacs on ebay last year, they were wanting £150 (or thereabouts) for it, dunno if they managed to sell it or not... :P

    Why Maintain a Rainbow?

And moral no. 2 of the story; Do NOT use WD-40 as a lubricant!!! It's a Water Dispersant designed solely for restoring continuity on wet electrical contacts under the bonnet of a car as a get-you-home measure, it should not ever be used to lubricate anything, despite their false claims on their...

I just got a Sentria for less than $100

"I wish people would post things like that in Gumtree&#3 Get yourself to some local auctions, cos you never know, a Sentria sold at auction back near where I used to live went for a pittance, as you can see in the pic (where they mis-spelled Sentria) from the auction results catalogue... :P

Why Are Hard Cover Models TOL?

It's simple, it's psychology, higher prices to some easily influenced people indicates better quality, so they'll pay the extra to get something they think is superior, regardless of the facts & figures....

"6 Pile adjustment!? Wow, you're spoilt for choice t Erm, not quite, it's "Item number 6 - Pile height adjustment"... :P

    Commercial Vacuums

"How do you do that ?" You tap the hookswitch really fast, 1 tap for "1", up to 10 taps for "0"...

    Commercial Vacuums

Hmm... "6 - Pile height adjustment" Where?? :S That said, the photograph of a Victor there shows the 171 which is flatter it seems (and could have height adjustment), but the drawing is right for a 271, apart from the height adjustment, cos it has fixed axles... :&#92

"Yes but one has to consider the reasons why it was orig Yep, it was done cos Strowger's funeral home was losing business cos his opposition's wife worked in the local telephone exchange as an operator and was passing the business over to him, so Strowger came up with the automatic exchange to...

    Commercial Vacuums

"pulse dialling isn't available anymore? " It certainly is available, BT support it still, and most cable suppliers do too, and you can get VOIP adaptors that support pulse dial phones too... The only issue is these days the hardware at the exchanges is all digital, so they're very exacting as...

    Commercial Vacuums

"that number... Shape" "Dial" is the word... :P It's like dialling on a rotary phone, only you're pressing the buttons, not turning the fingerwheel... Plus I've had a couple of those cheap chinese phones, they're pathetic, wouldn't bother with them, especially as you can buy the real thing...
