$4 Fantom Lighting with a damaged powerhead motor need some help

Despite what some may say... You will not find another lightning powerhead for parts, or probably one in general. Firstly, you need to get that broken wire soldered before anything has the possibility of working. Once you do that and get it back together I think there is a reset button on those...

City of Dearborn selling off a s#!tload of old vacuums & sweepers

When I saw the posting title I thought "what are the chances that's Dearborn MI?" I looked at what was listed and they didn't seem to have that much besides a couple sweepers missing handles.

    Outer bags, various models

I have a couple bags I feel would be better in someone else's use than in my storage. I think $10 + shipping for a bag is reasonable, but if not we can work something out Kirby classic III bag. It looks "fuzzy" but is ripless and clean Bissell Prolite. Washed and igc. Hoover Clean n' light...

    Imma make it Rain...

that's how I felt when I bought my D3 Well, you aren't really missing anything important besides a tool caddy. What is really the "pop out" on your new Rainbow is the fact a lot of the parts are newer/replaced if you aren't aware; water basin, dolly, crevice and dusting tool, and it looks like...

What's the CRAZIEST vacuum deal you have experienced?

best deal was the winning bid of 99 cents and $34 shipping for my innovation. next would probably be a deal I got on a kirby classic omega, incomplete III, 515, G5, and 3 mid-90's royals for $100. Cleaned them all up and made double my money back selling the classics, my beat up G5 and the...

As If I Needed Any More Vacuums...

I know this thread is a little old... but can anyone with a power center show some detail shots of the attachments and hose? I'd like to get my power center going again and with attachments this time!

Sears Kenmore Destiny / Fantom Thunder HELP.

I have never seen a schematic on one, but I don't know how that would help you resolve its running hot. I do however believe there shouldn't be a relationship between your makeshift gasket and the increase of exhaust temp.

Hoover Fun with John Part 2

Your Hoover legacy (750 or 780?) is the 2nd to last BOL model. The 730, the only no-on-board attachment Legacy model was the BOL and consequently the vacuum I am set on finding. Very nice vault collection too, wish my vac guy was more enthusiastic about what he does!

A rarity and fine piece of Hoover history...

I still have an oportunity to get a C1403. needs a cord and a fan and that's why I wasn't interested for $10. I'll have to give the guy a call because I have been interested in some other stuff he's had for a while.

    This is a little weird

Have another I just found this on ebay. I have never seen a nozzle like that on any machine. That bag and handle is familiar to me on Singers though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-0-AMP-VINTAGE-SINGER-VACUUM-CLEANER-/121162622840?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c35dae778

    A silly little Hoover question?

I believe in addition to what was mentioned it also has a tiny bit to do with the direction of the fans, horizontal vs vertical.

    Good Price for a Rainbow?

The 1st one I wouldn't pay that. No attachments, no guarantee of a clean motor. The D3 (in my opinion) is a nice machine, but hasn't reached the point of vintage value like the D2 and prior, but isn't 'modern' enough like the D4 to fetch a price like $145 for just the machine and power nozzle...

My birthday gift from me to me!

Happy Birthday.... I hate it when a cheap excuse gives you a good reason to buy something, but then you dismiss the excuse because what you bought is just so darn cool. Very nice decade-commercial. I do not get interested in convertibles, but I have always thought decades are the bomb. btw, my...

    This is a little weird

Just to add it in This is definitely vintage, but I have never seen such a strange looking shop vac. In my opinion though, for anyone that likes collecting shop vacs too, Craftsman has the most of the intriguing-looking shop vacs, pre-90's. Almost looks like that motor/top was homemade

    This is a little weird

So I'm doing the occasional (for me, almost daily) craigslist browsing of vacuums. Haven't found anything that I really want, but this particular vac goes in the record books as one of those strange name-combination vacuums. For starts, I have never, ever heard of the Powermax name being reused...

    Hoover Elite??

I believe one of mine is a performance 640, same color but top fill bag. Looks like the hood may have oxidized a little bit, that's the right bag though. I don't believe they were intended to exactly match on some models. I'd be willing to bet that's a 91, maybe 92' model. I've gotten a couple...

    Please help

well unless that vac was heavily restructured/customized/frankensteined, I don't think it's newer than a sanitronic 80. VII or 562 does sound like a fair guess to me. Don't you hate it when people make marred marriages out of beautiful, elegant older kirbys??

    A Windsor Grout Hog

Thanks Rick! I used it for about 1 hr. on my dad's floors, bypassing the on switch and nothing seemed to go wrong. seeing that the relay is probably really expensive or nla, would you know if I could put a regular on/off switch where the momentary power on switch is? I am assuming since the...

The childhood vac I never got to fully use!!

celebrity II Elite When I was much younger, my mom used to clean houses. One of my favorites to go with her on was this older couple that the man had a thing for Hoovers, and never throwing anything way....They had a celebrity II elite as above (missing pn), dimension 1000, powerdrive, early...

    Hoover Powerdrive / Concept Brushroll

yeah, I was hoping CWP would do something. I am in definite need of a concept brush, or at least the pulley piece, because unexpectedly a huge chunk broke off of one of mine shortly after my the original post! So if anyone has a bad roller/frame you'd part the bearing-pulley part off, I need it!!!
