    Wow good on you Dyson!!!!

This is basically the 2015 DC65 I picked one of these up at BB&B for $250 out the door last week, thanks to one of their 20% off coupons during the nationwide Dyson sale. The brushbar in this model is identical to the new Cinetic upright (I own both), but the Cinetic has a soft squeegee along...

    Vax Turboforce Experiences/opinions!

It takes a huge flat belt I believe it was a Dirt Devil Style 12 in the states, which had a huge diameter and was unlike any flat belt I've seen. Even the largest Dyson belt would be too small, and put strain on the motor, brushroll, and brushroll housing. I'm sure the genuine correct belt can...

    Vax Turboforce Experiences/opinions!

I repaired dozens of the Dirt Devil version in the US They ARE heavy. Heavy in the hands, and not easy to push. They're also enormous cleaners from a time when most bagless uprights were monstrosities. The Dirt Devil version was notorious for the brushroll ends allowing in hair, tying up the...

Finally preparing the Vacuum "gallery". Care to see some HOOVERS?

What a great collection of Hoover products! Wow!

Hoover turbo brush making AWFUL noise

Never hurts to clean it out but usually lubricating the wheels requires no disassembly. I usually just put a drop of oil on each end of the wheel, without taking anything apart. Still it won't hurt to check the belt, filters, and shroud inside the bin while you're at it. With that brushroll...

    Hoover Model 704 Habitat Find

That's a beauty! Great color! Love the pleasant sound of a classic Convertible, and they do a great job.

Hoover turbo brush making AWFUL noise

It'll work perfectly on those front wheels! It's a quick fix, too! Put a drop on each side of the wheel on the axle, and roll it a few times to coat the inside of the wheel. Wipe off any extra oil thoroughly with a towel. Is that residue on the turbo tool from the oil, or just from dirt...

Hoover turbo brush making AWFUL noise

Hey Niclonnic! Glad the 3-in-1 Motor Oil did the trick! It's my go to, and I've gone through several bottles over the years tuning-up vacuums. It's great for any sleeve bearing, and it's what I use for my vintage fans as well. As turbine tools almost universally use small cheap bearings...

    Latest Find! CHEAP!

These were great machines. In my years repairing vacuums, we saw little problems outside of bellows tearing, and handle catches wearing down. They agitated great, sounded nice, and were low-maintenance. The brush on/off settings were near non-existent in an upright at-the-time, and we take...

Hoover turbo brush making AWFUL noise

Turbo Tune-Up! I would start by cleaning out any hair or thread that's built up around the brushroll and turbine, making sure none has gotten into the ends of the brush or where the turbine seats. Also check and make sure none of the plastic is chewed up where the brush or turbine sit, and...

A Roll Easy for the 21st Century?

When it comes to bagless it's multi-cyclonic or bust. Why would Vax even bother if it's going to be another high-maintenance, poor filtering bagless that takes a major step backward, while hyping its forward-thinking? If a company can't design a proper bagless filtration setup, just make the...

    Dyson DC28C

The canister looks great but have they improved the tools yet? The hose, wand, and hand grip all broke the deal for me on the DC39, and I didn't keep it (same for the DC26). The unit itself was quieter, and had excellent suction, but the tools were unwieldy.

    DC59 Animal Complete ordered !

I will always have a Dyson cordless around! I love my DC59, and have been a happy Dyson cordless user since the DC16. With the filtration, power, versatility and battery life, it's still unmatched in the category. I've seen people on here scoff at the battery life, but in use it's actually...

    DC59 Animal Complete ordered !

Felix hard floor cleaning tip: If you pull the front bristle strip out of the Sebo parquet tool, it will pick up large debris with ease. The back strip acts as a squeegee, and it's still very gentle on flooring.

    Mid 1990s SEBO Automatic X1

If I had small throw rugs, or area rugs with fringe I would have kept the brushroll guards, but in my current living situation I don't. Actually my home has been robo-proofed for my Neato Botvac 80, which is scheduled to clean twice a week while I'm at work. The few mats and loose flooring...

    Hoover Windtunnel Bagless Trash Find.

With a new belt, good bristles, and clean filters.. They actually do a very good job. They don't have as much suction as the bagged versions, but they have the same super-aggressive agitator. Because of a leaky switchover door for the tools, the tool suction is much worse than it should be...

    Mid 1990s SEBO Automatic X1

Those Ultra Bags look NICE! I'll try them soon! I ended up with generic Envirocare bags. Because of the clever filtration setup (the tall pre-motor filter), I never noticed issues with suction loss or anything, but I like how good HEPA bags keep the bag compartment spotless. I couldn't wait...

    Mid 1990s SEBO Automatic X1

Congrats, Matt! Last week, I found a Windsor Sensor at a flea market, and it needed some TLC. In my hunt to get my vacuum tuned-up, I noticed your machine on ebay. I have the same model, but with a 15-inch nozzle, and it was always a pleasure to use. My family uses it in their office now...

I have made my peace with James Dyson..........for now

It doesn't really look like it but I finally finished rebuilding my DC41 today. Came from an environment overflowing with pets. I was able to get the smell of carpet fresh out of it by washing the pre-filter with cold water and detergent (just using water wasn't enough to get the smell out)...
