Full Presentation of the Dyson V10 Unveiling

I just bought a V8 (fantastic vacuum), but the new model looks very nice. I like the idea of a larger (and self-cleaning!) bin, more power, and longer battery life.

Full Presentation of the Dyson V10 Unveiling

Dyson just uploaded the full presentation of the Cyclone V10 reveal. I love this kind of stuff, and it's fun to see James Dyson discuss the development process of their latest gadget. (I see this was just linked in another thread, but I'll post this as well, so as many enthusiasts as...

No more corded vacuums to be developed by Dyson

The new V10 looks very nice, and I've been a Dyson cordless fanatic since the DC16, which I bought 10 years ago. So far I've owned the DC16, the DC35 (their first stick vacuum, which I saw as revolutionary), the DC59 Animal, the V6 Absolute, and my current V8 Absolute. As I've upgraded, I've...

    My new goodwill vacuum find!

Great find! Those Windtunnels do an excellent job, and maintained properly, offer years of deep-cleaning. From personal experience, and from the looks of yours, I would recommend replacing both belts, and the brushroll, as the bristles on yours are worn down (on new brushrolls, the bristles...

    Watch out boys...

@dysonman I agree! Eureka has maybe had the worst-run of bagless vacuums since their inception, but this one looks like it has potential. I wonder if it's multi-cyclonic? There is a video of a woman reviewing it on Youtube. One thing I noticed (and was mentioned here already), is that the...

    Watch out boys...

Eureka must be excited about this model They dusted off the classic logo for it.

    Shark NV680UKT

That's a shame I wonder if the joint for the swivel neck puts stress on the hose, causing it to tear. I'll have to check my Powered Lift-Away, which I've been very happy with so far (quiet, versatile, very powerful, and easy-to-maintain/empty). I understand most of these machines brand new...

    Kirby Avalir tool holder

Love the RooBag! I've never seen that before! I love that they gave it a novel name to play up how it works. Does anyone know if the new Kirby tool bag can hold the hose, along with all the standard tools? If it could fit everything, and maintain a smaller footprint, it looks like a winner...

    Kirby Avalir with red trim

Maybe if they made ALL the trim and plastic accents red it would look cool, but as it is, it looks kind of silly (IMO it's a cheesy shade of red too). Go big or go home, Kirby!

What would you say is the prettiest upright vacuum that is currently available for sale?

The design of Dyson cleaners isn't overly-noisy, or busy. It's simple, but immediately stands out, and plays up the features that sets it apart from competitors. It's incredibly smart aesthetic design, constantly copied, but never equaled.

What would you say is the prettiest upright vacuum that is currently available for sale?

Another example Dyson cordless vacs have been around for years, but none of the competitor's scrambling-to-catch-up offerings look as slick (or are as good). Makes a great conversation piece.

What would you say is the prettiest upright vacuum that is currently available for sale?

Bagged: I would say the Sebo Felix, Riccar Radiance, Miele S7, and maybe the metal Royals. Bagless: Dyson leads by a mile in terms of appearance. Their newer products are Apple-esque in their modern beauty, and their aesthetic remains what other manufacturers vie to achieve. Whether or not...

    Dyson Light Ball design fault

Disappointing to see that in the new Dyson Usually a larger-diameter brushroll will help prevent hair and thread from getting wrapped around it, or caught in the ends. Sebo sorted out this problem decades ago, and many modern vacuums have well-guarded brush ends, using pretty simple solutions...

What do I think about robotic vacuums?

Been ignoring the nay-sayers for years Owning a good robot is a revelation. 98% of robotic vacuums historically have been trash, but once you own a good one, it's a game-changer. It's so nice to come home after a long day, to a freshly-vacuumed home. Run regularly, a good robot can take care...

    Miele upright vacuum

My Miele S7.. is one of the best modern uprights I've ever used. The only Miele canisters that can match the S7's carpet-cleaning performance, are the $1,000+ high-end models that come with their best power nozzle. Miele's upright is highly-maneuverable, and very versatile, without the need...

    New Dyson Light Ball

I bet the Miele Blizzard is great! I have a few Sharks that use a nearly-identical filtration setup (minus the "self-cleaning" filter), and they work far better than expected. I am admittedly still surprised Miele opted-out of cyclones (given that the patents are expired, and they work so much...

    I did something silly

"My guess is that once the premium tandem air model with the lifetime belt comes out, the current tandem air model will be discontinued." Does this fabulous-looking fancy new power nozzle not feature a lifetime belt? If so, what a shameful omission! I'd take a regular excellent Tacony power...

    New Dyson Light Ball

The Miele Blizzard looks nice, but I'm surprised Miele resisted throwing a few cyclones into their large bagless canister to improve it's separation efficiency. They're using Shark's system instead, coupled with a Windtunnel 2/Hoover Z system, with a filter that gets dirt "flicked-off" the...

Kirby Complete Model Change or Just Another Color Change?

Dysonman1 and others here have proved an excellent point The Kirby is now different-enough in its own way to carve out it's own new niche. I suppose if Hoover was still selling Concept Ones as their only machine, they would prove similarly niche, but also stand their own ground in terms of...
