    Has Anyone Ever Over-Vacuumed?

Stan Thank you for your reply :) I am not convinced the Dysons are wearing my carpet down because the nylon bristles aren't very aggressive. They don't hurt my hand when I touch the spinning brushbar unless I apply a lot of pressure

    Has Anyone Ever Over-Vacuumed?

I never allow any shoes on my bedrooom carpet which is 1 inch thick and plush. It's only 2 years old and it's worn already! The carpet gets vacuumed all the time with Dyson uprights and I think it's because of that. I really don't know what I should do but it's flat and still fluffy at the top...

dead henry HVR 200-22, repair help?

Hi I suggest you get a multimeter and start testing individual electrical components starting with the switch, the cable, the hi-lo switch, the ocb and check the motor. Maybe the carbons have worn down. Best wishes -Tayyab Parwaz

    Dyson Cinetic post 1 year

I would have to disagree. Dyson are now fitting better quality Panasonic motors. How many DC07's have you seen with burnt out motors? Thousands. How many DC25's have you seen with blown up motors? Hardly many. That's because the DC07 used a YDK motor and the DC25's all have Panasonic motors...

    cloth or paper bags

HEPA Cloth bags all the way! I don't like paper bags. We had a Vax 6140 pet's vacuum which used paper bags and whenever you change the bag, you really do realise how much the suction deteriorates after a couple of vacuumings. My Auntie has a Numatic Henry with HEPA-Flo bags and they are...

My Newly Aquired Dyson DC07 All Floors

Really nice late model of DC07 there :) Nice find! 1) Remove the soleplate by turning the 3 brightly coloured fasteners 90 degrees anti clock wise. 2) Take the brush off he belt by lifting and turning the brush as you move the brush along. 3) Remove the internal hose by twisting it off on...

    Dyson Small Ball?

The original DC50 has a collapsing handle aswell. Maybe the long plastic flexible wand is a bit overkill? Or it's because the new 700W DC50's are too powerful so need a more surdy wand. My cousin has a 2015 DC50 and he says it's a bit too powerful (the suction at the head) and it just lifts...

Is this normal for clutched Dysons?

Must be to do with the carpet thicknesses putting pressure on the clutch and brushbar. Hardly ever a problem here. Non clutched models are very popular here aswell as the clutched models. These machines are mostly suitable for the UK market. Machines like the DC17, DC28+ are better for North...

Is this normal for clutched Dysons?

Belts Well even DC03's and DC04's still groom well with their original clutches (dates printed underneath the clutches) and that's the British made models. I had a good few, the machines themselves were filthy and had scratches so were clearly well used. They came out in 1998 and that's 17...

Is this normal for clutched Dysons?

Yes it's normal but it depends how tangled the brushbar Hi Nick, I can guarantee you that the belt will NOT break. They are designed to last a lifetime of the machine like the filters are. The hair going under the belt can happen, especially when the brushbar needs cleaning urgently. I can...

My Vax / TTI nightmare and now ruined carpet

I saw your Facebook post on this to Vax UK We had a Vax 6140 (Pets version of the 6131 but in red) like 5 years ago, was an okay vacuum, but for washing i wasn't that great. It would be alright for sucking up spills etc, but even extracting the water from the carpet was minimal. The wash head...
