the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

I never choose cylinders, an upright does everything a cylinder can (well mine can anyways) I can't get along with cylinders, even if I try. I really want to like them but I can't, literally! Too annoying to use and less fun IMHO.

    Fresh orange juice from scratch

Aw, I know, it's bad :| I used some today to disinfect my new DC33, the post motor filter had lots of carbon dust but even after using bleach it was still a grey colour, wanted it to be white. I have Dettol spray which I could have used to disinfect it I guess... I used to steam clean my...

the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

Reply #5 I noticed that there are more upright users in my area as well. There are cylinders, but mostly Henry's, Hetty's, Dyson DC19's, DC28C's and high end ball models

Dyson DC25 Post motor filter popping loose.

The cause of this is the carbon dust. The carbon dust eventually becomes too much for the airflow so it gets blocked and the powerful motor is blowing it's exhaust really powerfully, so the air must go somewhere. The sealed filter is doing well but it becomes too much so it just pops the filter...

car lifted of the ground by vacuum

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Agreed ^ If you don't believe what Tom said, then get a vacuum with a hose (no airflow holes-block them) and put something suckable on your hand and cover it with the vacuum hose Switch the vacuum on and then off after a few...

the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

Nice thread :) Here are my questions; Maybe people find it satisfying to give the carpets a good "scrubbing" with the floor tool which they think works best? Maybe they have a lot of furniture and British homes are tiny so something like a cylinder is more agile, especially with loads of...
