    Which brushroll to get?

Yes, it is safe to wash the bag in the bathtub. Use warm/hot water, and laundry detergent. Wash it twice and then rinse until the water is clear.

Arm & Hammer Carpet Odor Eliminator -- Thoughts?

I've never had an issue with any carpet freshener powder, but it does clog bags and filters, so it's best to change the bag/clean the filters soon after using it. Never had any machine damaged by it though.

when did they leave this ball game?

GE *Did* have a few models out in the early 2000's, sold only at Walmart, they were not true GE's though, but rebadged Eurekas.

Does this Self Propelled Windtunnel motor look like it needs to be replaced

The big question is, how does it run? If it runs fine, don't bother replacing it, but if it sounds nasty or smells, by all means replace it.

    Electrolux hose repair.

Why not buy a modern vinyl hose to use with the machines, and use the leaky originals for show?

    eureka superlite

I have had a couple of them but sold them both. I thought they were pretty weak, and very noisy. Terrible filtration as well. I think the Dirt Devil and Hoover versions are much better machines. Better cleaning and filtration, and not so cheap feeling.

How to get rid of bad smell from Dyson DC07?

Well, the hepa filter *can* be removed. We had a dc07 animal at our church, and I removed the filter because it was very clogged. No damage to the machine, although it was significantly louder. Under the bin, at the front, there is a clip looking thing, that can be gently pried up with a...

    I think I found a Singer Simon.

If bags aren't available, I can pick some up at a thrift store here in town and ship them to you. Pretty sure there are 2-3 packages.

    Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup problems

The machine *I* had an issue emptying was a Hoover Fusion, which had basically the same bin as the one above -however- it never broke. The problem was that dog hair, strings, fuzz, etc. would get caught above the lower cyclone "deflector" and would either have to be jarred loose, or the entire...

    Hoover Windtunnel dirt cup problems

It seems like such a poor design to *have* to bang the cup to empty it! Any bagless machine I currently have does not need to be beaten to empty it- either open the top or bottom, depending on the machine, and the dirt falls into the trash. I did have a Hoover bagless with a similarly designed...

    NASTY Kirby G4

And it is pretty chewed up anyway so probably a good idea. I'm pretty sure it's been replaced before, there was glue on the side of the fancase, I don't think that would have gotten past quality control when it was new.

    NASTY Kirby G4

The good news is that it actually runs great! I didn't realize it needed so much work. I will probably install a new fan while it's torn apart as well.
