Can someone walk me through on a Convertible? Is it normal to be hot and smell strange at first?

Oh wow! I wasnt aware of the blue version. That's really neat. I believe the brown version had the blender motor.

Streamlined motor hood... True! This particular model is a '76. It is a shame they didn't carry them on. I believe there was also a Eureka with a brown continental hood. I don't have one of those, but I believ I have seen them.

Thanks! I think it will too. The bag is full to the point of almost busting. Even the bag throat is full.

That is most likely silicone to seal the fan casing. Make sure to re-apply new silicone when you reassemble the machine.

Went across the bridge to Indiana today. It is mine and my wife's 2nd anniversary and we spend it vac hunting lol. A match made in heaven. Got it for $25. Love it! Great machine.

Is there any way to fix a crack in a Convertible base? It's a hairline crack by the brushroll on the end with the square notch. Still works perfectly and I'm not sure this would even hurt anything...just curious. Rest of the vacuum is nice.

I also just realized the hood gets a little warm to the touch after running it for a bit.

Well, here it is. I got it for $15. It runs but the motor bogs down when you try to use it. New belt, new bag...the whole works. It sounds pretty good...and then once it hits the carpet, you can hear the pitch change. The machine itself is in very good condition. Hopefully I can get some motor...

Just got home with it. Will post pics and info later. It is a model U4519.
