I have had several plastic base Hoover Convertibles that the plastic brushroll housing either wears or breaks altogether, allowing the brushroll to spin freely in the housing. I would check this first.

I know there's supposed to be a year stamp on the base like the rest of my Eurekas. This one has nothing.

Anyone happen to know around what year this Eureka was made? There's no date tag on the bottom of it like most Eurekas usually have...$2 garage sale purchase today...

So, I've been off the site for a long while now. Life has gotten in the way and my wife has suffered from some heart and other health issues lately, so I've been focused on taking care of the homefront. Anyway, finally made a new purchase a couple of day ago. I found this Hoover Convertible 700...

So I purchased a Hoover Convertible locally today. The brush roll housing with the two slots that hold the roller in has worn down and cracked odd. The original Hoover roller will vibrate and roll around in the housing...but my CWP roller works fine and fits snugly. Is there a way to fix this?

Looking to add another Convertible to my collection. Anyone have a decently priced good condition Convertible they'd like to part with?

Can it be done? Can you place a higher performance later motor in an earlier metal base Convertible? I have a plastic vac with a bad base and good motor and a metal base with a bad motor...can the power switch and everything hold up?

I decided to take some pics of the 1451 I found the other day...not a bad vacuum. I know this was the first upright by Electrolux...any other info on them?

Saw this one at Goodwill last week...passed on it. Went back today and it was still there...so I bought it. $8.00. Very neat and different. Haven't plugged it in yet.
