Help! Dyson dc33 brush roll stalls

Ok some progress A YouTube video showed me how to change the clutch and belts as an assembly. But I guess my question is…if the brush roll does indeed turn, but just not fast and is stoppable by hand…then is the clutch bad or just the belts. I can get belts for a quarter of the price of the...

    My New Lux Classic

Well the machine are warranted I se all the negativity surrounding the new machines. Yes, Joe Urso is focused on money, no doubt. I recently had a conversation with a commercial sales rep on the air cleaning side. He said they are relying on the « old » customers who like their Electrolux’s and...

Help! Dyson dc33 brush roll stalls

My neighbors put their Dyson dc33 out for free pickup. I took it…the brush roll runs but stalls on carpet and I can stop it with my hand. Is there a belt to replace or is it something more? Thanks! The switch for it does shut it off and turn it back on again correctly. Any help is appreciated...

    Disposable Bag Timeline

The NYT article… Interesting it doesn’t mention Electrolux at all which was one of if not THE most popular cleaner at the time. Also, look at the pricing for various machines and items. 40 cents per bag for disposable bags is mentioned. That’s quite costly by today’s standards. Vacuums were...

What's a vacuum you shouldn't like but really do?

Shark rocket I’ve always been a big Electrolux/Aerus fan but a friend bought a Shark rocket stick vac back when they first came out on qvc. I tried it when I was at her house and she wanted to show it off and was sort of impressed with it. Within a year or so she passed away and she was renting...

Shopping for a new bagless upright - Which one is best?

Honestly… Go to your Aerus dealer and try out their canisters or upright. It is the original Electrolux. There are various models to choose from at various prices. It will clean everything on your list and is built with quality. They are not bagless but you’ll never have filters to clean and...

    Spot Light on Hand Vacs?

Shark rockets Several of the Shark rockets have the light on the hand held canister as well as on the power head. I like it when I have to get into a dark corner. It’s led and focused well so it does work nicely Jon

    closure final...

Some good and bad apples in life Yep there are some good people and bad ones too in this works and that is reality. Crazy the drama created by some but the trick is to realize this and therefore avoid and ignore those bad ones and stay focused on the good ones and only interact with the ones...

A question about the Shark brand

Constantly changing Same company but constantly evolving. They change and improve the machines and designs over time. This process does two things…it improves the product to keep people buying and helps their reputation and it also feeds the fact that people always want something new and...

What is the worst-performing vacuum cleaner that you've ever used?

Dirt devil The cheap dirt devils clog very quickly making the suction performance horrible. Anything under $100 is a joke and people should expect to be disappointed at that price point honestly. Jon

What is the worst vacuum from the past 20-ish years?

Dirt devil breeze and a few others I used a dirt devil breeze and a smaller mini dirt devil upright. Both were horrible and nearly impossible to push on certain types of carpet. Really crappy filter design quickly clogs making the vacuum very ineffective as suction is quickly lost. Hoses were...

    Tristar CXL vacuum

I like to rotate use. First of all if I don’t use the machines I won’t enjoy them to my delight but at the same time I am also very careful with them so as not to dent or scratch them so I can enjoy having them in nice shape. Rotating what I use allows them to also last longer as far as the...

    Electrolux vaporizer

1952-1956 The hammertone blue vaporizers were used on all 1952-1956 models. In 1957 the model AF was introduced and the vaporizer color was changed to a creamy white which matched the model AF front and back end colors. Prior to 1952 the vaporizer was a mirrored chromed finish. Jon

Electrolux model "E" through "L" wheel replacement.

Faster solution on wheels Following the above directions up to the point of drilling the new hole…my system is the same but then I drill a hole a little smaller than a wide thread sheet metal screw that will fit the shaft. But not too big because you want the screw to grip into the shaft. Then...

    Electrolux dealer/accessories

Wow Never seen most of those wall hangers before. I think the person may have worked for Electrolux at one time or another, the cloth bags are demonstration bags. The hook tool is used for models with external hose wires to close the straps. The wall hangers may have been normally supplied with...

Vintage Regina Heavy Duty Model P1022P Floor Scrubber.

We had one My Mother had bought one when they bought the house to scrub the kitchen floor and she also used it with the carpet brushes to shampoo the carpeting with the Electrolux shampoo. It also could polish the floors. We donated it with all of its accessories to a Mission which has a thrift...

    Aerus 5000 motor issue

Check a few things. Make sure the motor is actually spinning the fans. The nut may have come loose. Next you would want to make sure all parts between the bag compartment and fan housing are sealed together. If they are not a suction leak would occur. Someone gave me a 1453 model recently...

    Gleaner?

Gleaner Mostly the gleaner was for getting stubborn threads and hairs out of the carpet. It was switchable because on some types of carpeting, particularly loop, it would grab the carpet and you couldn’t slide the tool over the carpet so it had to then be switched to a smooth bar. Jon

Repair manual for Electrolux Model G?

Great! I’m glad that we were able to give you some help to disassemble your G. I’ve never opened my G but have my AF. It is similar in general design. It is amazing how dirty the motors get even with genuine bags used. And the dirt is very fine indeed. So cleaning out the motor is very good...
