    1973 Cleaning Closet

Eek! Look at that hose storage! Oh for F’s if sake, somebody disconnect that hose from the power nozzle! Such a horrible thing to do to a hose when you’re not using it! I bet that one didn’t last very long.

    Kirby model 2C help needed

I’ve been working on an old Canadian Lux for about 5 years now. It’s always been an amazing long shot when I find a particularly piece, at curbside or on eBay. About 10 years ago when I had more time, I personally think that it’s best not to put all of your emotional energy into one machine. I...

    Kirby model 2C help needed

He’s almost 18. Not quite a kid, but he is new here. I guess it would have been kinder if someone had corrected him before he posted a second thread on the same topic and his incessant messages started coming in. I’d like for him to know that restoration cannot be done very well under a time...

    Johnson floor polisher

That horizontal brush design is quite peculiar… It’s also quite reminiscent of the horizontal brush machine from Racine Corporation, aka Host Carpet Cleaner. I wonder if it’s more than a coincidence, since both companies are in Racine Wisconsin.

Get Hep to (1957's) Vacuum Cleaner!

#6 is a Universal. I believe that was the Jet 88, or whichever one was the lesser model. The better of the “Jet” models had chrome trim, no wheels and a sliding control lever to diffuse the exhaust air through the sides. Also, the Atlas had large lettering spelling out the word “Atlas” on the...

    Why Tacony SUCKS nowadays.

Did Shark really get it right??? I’m not being sarcastic, just curious about a vacuum professional’s point of view instead of a collector’s opinion. My housekeeper uses her Shark when she cleans my house and I’ve noticed that she seems to replace her machines quite often.

    Legit oldstock website?

Please attach a link to their website I just tried one listed in Chicago by this name, but they had no vacuums on their site. I may not have the correct one.

    Singer "magic cleaner"

Lurelle Guild I do remember the scary one from an antique mall. I referred it to a fellow collector.

    Singer "magic cleaner"

Electrolux sold theirs well before the 1960’s The model XXX was available with a cord winder. I won’t be so bold as to list the year because I honestly don’t know, but I’m sure one of our Electrolux historians can provide the correct details. We have more than one.

Some concerning info about 1998-99 Self Propelled Windtunnels

Absolute truth here!!! I’d like to think that people are smart enough to do their own research about product recalls before buying or acquiring a used vacuum, but we all know that that isn’t the case. It’s just not practical or productive to think that we all have some sort of obligation to...

Some concerning info about 1998-99 Self Propelled Windtunnels

Ralph Nader declared that the Chevy Corvair was “unsafe at any speed “, yet you can still buy them used whenever they become available for sale. There’s very little that can be done about these vacuums unless you want to wage a one man campaign against used Windtunnels on Craigs List and eBay...

Vintage Regina Heavy Duty Model P1022P Floor Scrubber.

First North American upright with an onboard hose I believe that might have been the Sebo designed Windsor VersaMatic from 1979 or 1980. I’m sure someone here can correct me on the date.

    Sebo Cordless SoftCase BP60

Looking forward to seeing in person. I’ll be eager to see the inside of this one. I was fascinated with the Sensor models.

    Sebo Cordless SoftCase BP60

Are you sure it’s a belt driven fan?? One can’t always tell by the schematics.

    Elux-O-Matic

Is it a straight suction model? The port for the power nozzle cord is covered in the front portion of the handle, if it’s on this model.

    Royal 637 Power Nozzle

Unless you already have a buyer on the hook… The value might be debatable. Being “rare” doesn’t directly correlate to an object’s worth, but who knows? Put it out there for sale if you haven’t already been contacted privately. If if was mine and I didn’t want the money, I’d keep it.

    Hoover Slimline

No. It’s JC Penney’s private brand name for the store brand.

What vacuum does the US Iowa Senator have?

Where’s the cord?? There won’t be much hoovering done at the Grassley home without that cord.

12 years later after sitting in original box.

I still love mine! I also had the S126 Deluxe from the 1980's. I'm sorry that Miele didn't decide to expound on this model platform again.

When it’s “just” an old Hoover

Beautiful machine! I dragged out my 519 the other day after cleaning carpets and I'd forgotten how the airflow just glues it to the carpet pile.
