    Making old vacuums clean carpets

Perfect or Riccar? Which one do you think cleans better?

Looks like FilterQueen is diversifying the brand

Looks like just another revenue stream for FQ At this point I don’t judge any brand for their cordless stick offerings because so many of the brands seem to have one. It’s just another way to make a buck.

Went to Greg Palmers yearly vac meet

It comes right up on Google............. if you type in "Jason Huber, Wichita". I'm certainly not going to be the one to post a link to it here. Read it at your own risk. It was quite horrible and no way for anyone to die.

    Bissell wide area vac

Windsor’s difference It seems to be issues with build quality. There is a 3rd generation of the Sensor upright since 2020 that incorporates changes to the body and the redesigned exhaust filter in the rear. The main issues are in plastic components that break too easily and ongoing PCB issues...

    Bissell wide area vac

Windsor’s is different. Theirs isn’t as wide and the fan placement isn’t quite the same. It’s a shame about the Windsor and Karcher merger. The drop in quality is already showing in the new Sensor uprights.

Curious of all your thoughts on this

I’m already bored with it. The vacuum cleaner industry used to be so dynamic and full of innovation. Nowadays, if the big name companies aren’t licensing their own brand names on Oreck and Tacony products, they just take their own canister and slap it together with Wessel-Werk attachments...

    Bissell wide area vac

Hard to pinpoint the exact brand. I’ve used 2 but that was many years ago. One was an Oreck and the other (strangely enough) was a Scott and Fetzer. I do remember that they were quiet and had decent airflow, but I can’t be sure as to how thoroughly they cleaned. These were around for at least...

Curious of all your thoughts on this

Cordless Oreck-Now you see it, now you don’t. Poof! That cordless Oreck that bore the Hoover OnePwr name is now history. I found no trace of it on Hoover’s website. This means that currently Hoover only offers one cordless machine with “HEPA”- ish filtration. This is sad. This isn’t real...

I'm surprised California hasn't outlawed central vacuum systems yet

Ditto! Besides, if the climate issue was really so dire, then certain politicians wouldn’t be able to justify their incessant use of jet plane travel. I’m not naming any names because I don’t believe that this should be a partisan issue and I don’t want to turn it into one.

Neato Robotics is being shut down after 18 years

I love my Neato D7! They’re easy to like after having owned another brand. Their LIDAR navigation was way better than some of the camera based systems out there. I’m hoping that they’ll set us up for posterity and we can use the robots unplugged. What I mean is that we can continue to use the...

Windsor Sensor XP12 auto height not working

Sounds reasonable enough I’m sure the gears would be stripped from misuse or the operator trying to force the vacuum nozzle to go lower onto the carpet. I’m very fortunate with this machine in that gears are fully intact. If it happens again, it will most likely be the computer control board.

2.0 Eureka Shipping and Production History Pre-1947

Was the M the only one with a 2 speed switch on the handle? I have vague memories of one that my grandmother had. All I remember was the handle release and the 2 speed switch.

Windsor Sensor XP12 auto height not working

Yes he is! It takes a bit fortitude (and time) to sit with this component and piece the gears back to before sealing it back up. His work on this is a gift to anyone who appreciates this machine. I actually spoke to a technician at Windsor (Karcher) about this first and he stated that it...

Windsor Sensor XP12 auto height not working

Rolls_rapide you were almost right….. It was the servo motor for the height adjustment but it wasn’t burned out. It needed to be calibrated and a gentleman on the Manchester Vacs forum had a YouTube video and detailed info about this. As it turns out the servo is serviceable but I don’t...

Neato Robotics is being shut down after 18 years

I’m not surprised. Their customer service is horrible. Their in house technicians are so inept that it took an outside company specializing in out of warranty repairs to fix the glitches in my D7.

Windsor Sensor XP12 auto height not working

Update : I just had a technician tell me that the up & down lights will indeed not function if the servo motor is not working, so this will be my first replacement item. I hope this is it because it will certainly be cheaper than a PCB!

Windsor Sensor XP12 auto height not working

Repairman, one more question…… I just noticed on the pulley that the 2 magnets don’t meet up exactly across from each other. Is there any sort of fine tuning involved with this pulley that I might be able to adjust?

Who makes the Aerus Guardian Platinum?

Lux International Lux makes these machines for quite a few other countries. Theirs are a bit more sophisticated than what we can buy in N. America.
