    kirby heritage question

All Heritage I models had the metal emptor that was painted gray with the narrow axle. The wider axle and spacers were used on the Heritage II and Legend II when the plastic emptor was implemented. I believe the Heritage II was still offered with a shakeout option and it would've came with...

Seeking Info on GenVac Handheld Model 8227

Tom What kind of motor did it use? Was it the same as the ones used in the plastic Dirt Devil hand vacs?

Seeking Info on GenVac Handheld Model 8227

His Vacuumland account was created a day ago. Speaks volumes. That bag also looks to be made by DVC. I didn't know they made bags for handhelds. I've only seen that pattern on the aftermarket Kirby shakeout bags and F&G conversion bags.

    Buffing Kirby's

I have heard many great things from other members about O'Dowd's Vacuum in Omaha, Nebraska. I believe the man who buffs the Kirby parts used to restore motorcycles or cars. Not sure if he's still doing it or not. O'Dowd's Vacuum Services & Sales (402) 342-8300

    hoover 119 homemade bag

That bag is absolutely gorgeous. It's as if you created a stencil modeled after the original bag lol.

    Bojack hoover bags

John Are these outer bags or paper bags?

I need some help on the motor for the old Bissell powerclean/ pure air machine

Ametek isn't going to be of much help. Does the belt side bearing slide up and down at all or no? Bearings are usually press fitted onto the armature without the intent of replacement in mind.

    really ??

That's not even a genuine bag. It's aftermarket because it has the K's inside diamonds instead of the Kirby logo inside ovals or circles.

    Royal P/N 2-188273-000

I might have one laying around. Is that a brushroll with square ends? Some had a magnet and some didn't. What is your model number?

    Shipping a Hoover 825 and an Air-way

It would be best to ship the Hoover in two boxes: One for the handle and one for the main unit. This reduces shipping costs and makes packaging much easier. If you take the traditional route and use a 4 Foot tall box, ungodly amounts of packing material are required and the price of shipping...

    buy sell trade repair

That circuit board in the main unit and handle was the achillies heel of the Renaissance hence why no parts are made. Your best bet is to call Bryan Satterwhite at Virginia Aerus. They have helped many collectors including myself with parts and other Electrolux needs. I'm sure they have some...

Replacing headlight bumper on a kirby?

I use pop rivets while reusing the clips for the 500 series bumpers. For the headlight bumpers and later nozzle bumpers, I use the same method of stretching it around the existing rivet. I've broken only 2 this way, but it's a lot cheaper than buying the tool. As my old boss used to say...

    Hoover pre-war rubber bumper/protectors

This is similar to what Mike Balda was doing for older Kirby units a few years back. He would make custom wheels, outer bags, and many other parts. While there probably aren't as many people lining up to buy coffee-can Hoover parts, you could probably make a batch of say 10-25 and they would...

    Cord lengths.

It's somewhere in between 25-30 feet I believe. Those cords have been discontinued for quite sometime though. I used to drill out the strain relief and solder in the existing terminal to go to the switch.

    SuperVac SV-180

You can use Eureka Style F&G or Royal Type A Bags. They're equivalent to what this would've used when they were still around. Personally, I think this would be better off in the hands of a collector since brushrolls haven't been available for close to 40 years. You don't come into these often...

Aerus LLC (Electrolux USA) 100th Anniversary Models?

Curious who is behind the new line of commercial uprights. Seems like Perfect was the only one putting their exhaust filter on the opposite side. I think it's a better design since there's less risk of it getting knocked off. The power nozzle portion is also curvier and less square than previous...

3D printed Hoover 20 blade fan

Elite Fans I experimented a few months ago with this. I took a fan from an Oreck XL21 and expanded the 1/4 hole to 5/16 with a drill bit. No further modifications were necessary. I found the corresponding nut at Menards for less than a dollar. It's a 5/16-18 REVERSE thread. Measuring suction...

    Super Coach backpack vacuum.

Les Are you sure it's not an EBK340 branded as a Proteam? That's all I've ever seen on those units.

    More suction power???

I second Rob's response. Those Perfect Canisters are very beefy when compared to the Mighty Mite style canister still being produced today. They have rubber coated wheels and a three prong cord. Plus the hose tapers from 1.25" to 1.5" for more power.
