Like all Maytag Windtunnels, it has powerful suction. I may try getting a turbo tool for it so I can use it one the stairs. I pretty much have 4 Hoovers which was a goal of mine since I considered getting it..

Just tried it. The self propelled works perfectly on it! The suction was so strong, it sorta stuck to the carpet. But it cleans great and is very good!

So, the other day, I went to pick up my Birthday Gift. It was an older Maytag Self Propelled Windtunnel. I got a new belt for it since the old one was about to tear. The suction on it was really strong when I turned it on. It was also quiet despite what a a lot of collectors say..

    Hey guys, it’s been awhile.

I’ve been doing fine. I’m getting back into vacuums. I donated some while I was away, but I still have most of them. Here’s a pic of my Shop Vac. The grinding noise is gone since I fixed it a few days ago.

Can't the rod bend and not fully flip the switch. Also the windtunnels do use the microphone type sensor.

    Shopvac extraction

I tried this with my SHop Vac, it kinda worked but would've been more effective if I used a Bissell Extractor attachment.

    Handvac time

The one from '87 was my 500. The yellow one, my red one is from 1993 or'96. Yes they had 2 amp motors and were single speed when they first came out.
