Decided to pull out my Steamvac today to do the bigroom in my house. This was one of the last Made in US of A units. According to the serial date on this unit, it was made in May 2009.

I know that these suffered from reliability issues, therefore alot didn't survive and got thrown away. Other than that, great finds.

Guessing these had "preferred" in their names because alot of people preferred Hoover's Windtunnel Vacuums at the time.

Think the Twin Chamber Preferred Windtunnel had a teflon filter in it. I also think the Preferred Canister and Self Propelled had hepa bags. Don't know if the Preferred Dual V came with that bag chamber.

No, not referring to those elites, though I did see a Preferred Elite at one of my Goodwills. I'm about talking the Windtunnels that had "Preferred" in their names along with the Windtunnel Name. They'd usually be silver in color.

I do like Maytag Hoovers. But I think my Hoover Rewind (2016) does just as good as my Maytag Hoover Empower.

I still have my Empower. Just replaced the filter in it today and swapped the original nylon brushroll with my Widepath Tempo's CWP brushroll a few days ago. Anyways, has the Fold Away finished being restored, kirbyklekter? I'll Upload some pictures later...

I'm thinking the schematic on the left in the 3rd picture is a concept for the Fold Away.

I'm thinking about swapping the brushrolls from my Widepath Tempo and my Empower.. I just feel like talking about Maytag Hoovers from this era.

Are you referring to Kirby vacuums? I though they had beater bars.

I've heard about these brushrolls several times before. I do know that these perform well and are used in Kirby Vacuums. My Hoover Tempo has a CWP Brushroll while my Empower still has it's original nylon brushroll with it's lime green bristles.

Sorry it was a few weeks before I came back. Barely active on here anymore.. We're still in phase 2 though, however phase 3 in our area is on pause. Anyways, here's some pictures of my Empower I took back in June.

My Mom told me that apparently we're going into phase 3 next week because apparently, they have plans to open more things backup. I'm not sure about that.

Hi, my town's no longer in quarantine and we're currently in phase 2 of Coronavirus reopening. I'll post some pictures of my vacuums later. I can't go to Goodwill right now because we still have a stay at home order. I probably won't be able to go there until phase 3 or 4.
