No, I don't believe that's a Hoover model at all. I'm no expert on other brands, but it seems to have much more of a Goblin look to it, as seen below.

The video is unfortunately not showing up for me - could you possibly take a screenshot of the cylinder? I used to have a 417G (the same as you pictured above), so I know them in and out. I'll be happy to help!
They're made by/in collaboration with Gtech, who sells them in the UK. The motor is really close to the ground and the brushroll is surprisingly aggressive, making it surprisingly powerful for a cordless.
They actually *are* the Hotpoint design! Hotpoint sold the design off in the mid '70s (1976?) to become a catalogue model manufactured by someone else.
A cultural divide?
I've seen a couple people questioning why you'd have a vacuum at school, as they're often hard flooring. But why would you not vacuum hard flooring? It certainly provides better results than sweeping!
I personally love the vintage Hoover dual-tone boxes of the '50s - '70s, as well as the rather odd looking 'flame' Numatic style, which ran in the 2000s. What are yours?
I've been to many schools over the years...
At my nursery in the Channel Islands there was a push-button Henry, likely an HVR200-22 but possibly a UDS. That broke at some point and we gifted them a new Henry, which (iirc) was blue! That was very exciting for me - a brand new Henry! I still...
I quite like Performance Reviews. We all have our biases (so I wouldn't trust a bagless review from him) but his Miele, Sebo and Numatic reviews are very thorough, much more so than Vacuum Wars. My opinion, of course.
It's not a vacuum, but Oreck have been killing it recently and I would love to see their advertising ramp up. I'd also love the European brands (Sebo, Numatic etc) to gain some more footing in the States. And (finally), I'd love to see a corded version of the Truvox Valet upright come to the UK...
Hi! I'm from England but I've always loved the Elite series over in the States. From my understanding they had an incredibly long and convoluted run, which I've always found interesting. What was the first model/series? I know the final model in the mid '00s was some sort of Caddy Vac.
Thanks!
