    Power Nozzle Stays On

Michael, I am sure you will find one eventually. Consider yourself lucky you did not do business with Maytag142C - Cassidy. This member was formerly known as Michael Gravelin, used to be member Electroluxxxx on here. She has made A LOT of enemies over the years, and is someone NOT TO BE TRUSTED...

    Power Nozzle Stays On

Michael, if I was you, I would leave the vacuum alone and NOT rewire it so the powerhead shuts off when you shut off the vacuum. Remember - Aerus intentionally manufactured the Ultralux this way, for a specific purpose, so that the DriLux powerhead could be used with it for dry carpet cleaning...

    10 Amp Fantom Fury

Nice find Nick! Good idea to keep that one for collection and not daily use considering what happened when you used your 12 amp Fury. And Fantoms in general are getting hard to find, and expensive when you do.

    Making old vacuums clean carpets

Tom, you never cease to amaze me! You have bashed Tacony products ever since they shut down the Vac Museum and stopped working for them. Now you go ahead and post that using the Riccar Volt with a Hoover Constellation that it now "get the carpet clean for the first time ever"?! Amazing how you...

    2 for 1

Antoine, my bet is it's a bad power switch based on what you described is happening. Take note of how the vacuum is wired, then unhook the motor wires, and hard wire them to a old power cord. Plug it right into the wall - if the vacuum powers up, it's either the switch or cord rewinder causing...

(1999) Hoover Steam Vac Plus 1000 model F5875-900.

Scott, I wouldn't tease about the Hoover SteamVac too much there! I had a base model from 1996, a F5805, the one with the red hood, stationary brush and no port for the tool hose, for many years. It was a GREAT cleaner! Did a excellent job on any carpet I cleaned with it. Could have used a...

    Kirby 505 bag

Gary, if I was doing this, what I would do is purchase a black OEM replacement cloth bag from Kirby and have Chicagomike, Mike Balda, make a reproduction 505 bag for your Kirby. If you bought a used bag, UNLESS it was on a Kirby 505 that sat in a closet for decades with no use, the fabric will...

Aerus is now selling HEPA type C bags

This is awesome news! I guess they finally realized that to sell high end cleaners in today's market, you MUST offer a HEPA Cloth bag at least as a option. I would be willing to bet that they had customers directly comparing them to Miele and Sebo canisters, see that they have a HEPA Cloth bag...

    Kirby Factory Rebuild

Kirby sure is getting greedy on their Rebuild pricing now that Right Lane Industries owns them! Considering that parts are being discontinued for models prior to the Generation Series by Right Lane Industries, I don't think I would be tempted to give Kirby any future business any time soon!

Went to Greg Palmers yearly vac meet

WOW!!! What a horrible way to go! Talk about being in the wrong place at the wrong time....If only he hadn't been in the business at the same time as his killer, and leaving on a bike the killer wanted to steal. I never met Jason Huber in person. But we were friends for a few years....he was...

Looks very nice with the new hose Antoine. Where did you get that from? And what machine was it from? Your 89 is a early model, likely from 1967 to 1969. The early models had the chrome top trim, like yours. After 1970, the top trim was painted green until the AP100 was introduced in late 1973...

Went to Greg Palmers yearly vac meet

Ahh ok. Well I am not a member so can't read the Miscellaneous section. Can you fill us in here for people that didn't know of Jason Huber before, and his usernames here? How did he die? I was friends with him at one time, but decided to distance myself as he had way too many issues.

    unearthing more Hoovers

John, all I can say is, keep your head high, ignore the haters, and move on. Life is too short to give in to the trolls who hate people they don't even know. You're a good man....don't let them get you down.

Went to Greg Palmers yearly vac meet

Kenny, are you referring to Jason Huber when you say Jason (RIP)? How long ago did he pass away and how did he die?

Nice score Antoine! That would be a PN6 you got there. Take the other non working powerhead into your Aerus dealer, chances are it's the 3 way toggle switch on the powerhead that went bad. It's highly unlikely the motor itself went dead. That switch is discontinued, but they can replace it with...

    Power Nozzle Stays On

If I recall correctly, your model is designed to do that. I think the powerhead was designed to scrub in carpet cleaning powder as well as deep clean carpets.

My Cirrus CR-79 Handle is breaking

Could make a suggestion here to a more permanent fix? Sure, you COULD order a new handle assembly. BUT, if the plastic screw posts stripped out, it will likely happen again in 5 years. After all, it is Chinese cheap quality plastic. What I would do instead is drill out a small hole on the side...

    clean what you clean with

Great job cleaning out your TriStar powerhead, Antoine. Gotta keep our daily driver vacuum clean and sanitary so it does a good job cleaning our floors :-) . Next time you buy belts, try the Kirby Generation 301291 knurled belt. The knurled inner surface grips the brushroll pulley and motor...

who makes these easy off cleaner

Antoine, I would guess the Easy Off extractors were made by EDIC. The powerbrush on the EDIC canister extractors looks nearly identical.

    Absolutely Gorgeous Kirby Model 505

Very nice Liam! Looks very nice, and I am sure once you find the other parts you will have it looking very spiffy :-)
