    Eureka 200, 700 & 2000 Series Colors—Gold Mist and Moss Green

Interesting question, Paul! I don’t know….the best overview of Canadian Eurekas one can find is the website created by Doug Smith in Saskatchewan. If you peruse the three sections entitled Eureka, Viking and Baycrest or Beaumark, you will see many of the Made-in-Canada Eurekas….with their...

    Eureka 200, 700 & 2000 Series Colors—Gold Mist and Moss Green

Maybe I perceive the colour “gold” differently, but to me those Princess canisters with the fake woodgrain inlay always looked like avocado green to me. Whenever Eureka would label some model “gold”, I would see more of a green tone. Like the deluxe Empress II FastVac with VibraBeat nozzle...

Vacuum Cleaners in Montgomery Wards & JCP Catalogs

That Westinghouse Mobile Speed has a neat design that allows the user to sit it securely on a stair on it’s flat side. Very cool! Thanks again for all these catalogue scans, Paul! If you want to add another set of similar Eurekas from the 1960’s and 1970’s, try to find online versions of the...

Vacuum Cleaners in Montgomery Wards & JCP Catalogs

Wow! This is great, Paul! Thanks once again! Just one correction: that first big wheel MW Signature canister was actually made by Westinghouse, not GE.

    Eureka Chron-O-Matic Timeline — 1909-1999

Thanks for this Paul! Love the peaceful, gentle tone of that 1968 Vanguard tv commercial. That was the era in which Eureka really presented a calm, confident message to consumers - the products were solid and beautiful and the company did not need to yell at you to buy the cleaner. Even the...

    Eureka Chron-O-Matic Timeline — 1909-1999

Thanks for your posts Paul. So it would appear that the Rugulator and Dial-a-Nap models arrived on the scene at the same time. I guess the designers came up with a less expensive way to provide “front end” wheel adjustment for the less deluxe models of upright. It’s probably cheaper to punch...

    Eureka Chron-O-Matic Timeline — 1909-1999

Thanks for this great organized layout of Eureka history! Here’s a question for which I don’t have an answer: how much time passed after the introduction of the Rugulator before Eureka debuted the Dial-a-Nap feature? I really don’t think they came out at the same time. There must have been...

    Goodwill totally delivered today...

Is it really a “blender motor”? Our deluxe 1973 Rugulator 2083 also had a 3.5 amp motor that had a very pleasant low groan sound. I always thought these deluxe metal Eurekas from the early 1970’s had robust pancake motors made by Ametek. I could be wrong….not really sure what heavy duty motor...

Wow! That Vibra Groomer looks like it was never used!!!! Maybe the brush strips had been replaced recently?

    Goodwill totally delivered today...

Would be interesting to see if this Goodwill find has the Vibra Groomer brush roll which was introduced for Christmas 1971. If I remember correctly, the dates for the new features were: 1967 for Vanguard flat hood and box-top bag, 1969 for the Rugulator and 1971 for the Vibra Groomer brush roll.

Eureka’s Rugulator made it’s debut for Christmas 1969, if I remember correctly. Detective Paul? Would you agree? Beautiful find! Just install a hepa F&G bag and this will clean with excellence!!!

    Eureka Bravo II Widetrack models

Hi Paul, Thanks for the compliment! 😀 I wish I had the time and cash to simply buy up those old binders of Eureka spec sheets that appear on eBay from time to time. Then I could at my leasure just create a computer database of all models. The spec sheets really do provide all the detail you...

    Eureka Bravo II Widetrack models

Another distinction between the Bravo One and Bravo Two: the Bravo One had a Rugulator sliding scale height adjuster, whereas the Bravo Two had a Dial-a-Nap height adjuster.

    Eureka Bravo II Widetrack models

I actually owned a basic, no headlight, soft bag Bravo One in the early 1990’s. It had a much sleeker hood than the Bravo II and the provision for a sleek, low profile headlight was at the very front of the motor head. The Bravo Twos I find to be less attractive - with the boxy headlight...

    Eureka Bravo II Widetrack models

Welcome to Vacuumland Sofia! I think in order to help you find more Bravo Twos, we need to differentiate two very different Eureka model names here. The Bravo II (like the Bravo One before it) was Eureka’s answer to the Hoover Elite and it featured a side-facing fan which allowed the other...

Yes…would be great to see the original box that this came in. Also…wonder if the cardboard tool caddy survived all these years as well!

Stunning New in Box Eureka MobileAire on Ebay

Hi KirbyLux - how can you tell that it has a replacement wheel? The colour looks correct to me. The Lagoon Blue colouring can have different shades depending on the material, be it plastic or rubber or metal. The colours on all three wheels look identical to me. If I had the bucks, I’d drive...

New Maytag Satellite/Hoover Constellation with UK plug **HELP**

I am pretty sure your vacuum repair shop could harvest the proper 120 volt motor and wiring from old trade-ins they might be collecting. My concern is that the uniqueness of your request - having bought a 220-volt Maytag from Europe because it is unique - will cause the shop to take advantage...

Thrifted find, Hoover Futura 4.3 canister

I have a certain fondness for suction only canisters made in North America from the 1970’s onward to the present. Having grown up in a 2-vacuum household (upright for carpets + canister for everything else), I prefer a cleaning team comprised of simple yet robust cleaners that do their...
