Singer Twin Fan Bissell rebrand question?

I think that that is just a package of dust bags made by Bissell for the Singer Twin-Fan upright. It seems to reflect a weird phenomenon in vacuum cleaner history, where vacuum companies packaged dust bags for their own machines, along with competitor’s cleaners. Eureka never did this, but I...

    Career as a vacuum designer

Hi Raymonde! Fellow Quebecker here! 👋👋👋 You are in luck: you can study for a Bachelor of Industrial Design at either Carleton University in Ottawa or at the Universite de Montreal. Both really close to where you live. You would need to probably first have a Pure and Applied sciences...

    Synthetic bags

Hmm…. what about Hepa bags for a big central vacuum motor unit….surely these have enough material to cut open and modify for the GE…..see link below…. https://www.maytagcentralvacuums.com/en/hepa-microfilter-bags-for-maytag-central-vacuum-3-pack-maytag-fbmt3-440mtg

    Shop vacs

Sorry - that Hoover cordless shop vac is made by Ryobi. Maybe Ryobi is now owned by the same parent company TTI.

    Shop vacs

Here is the Hoover OnePWR cordless shop vac - see link below. I think it’s a rebranded DeWalt because I have seen it in yellow and black…. https://hoover.com/products/onepwr-high-capacity-wet-dry-utility-vacuum-tool-only

Singer Twin Fan Bissell rebrand question?

Oh….I thought the Bissell uprights made by Ryobi only had one fan. Be interesting to see the underside of one of them.

    Shop vacs

They now make rechargeable cordless shop vacs which are great for cleaning places that don’t have a plug nearby. Hoover has one that uses its PWR1 system of batteries that can be used some of it’s other cordless vacs and floor washers.

Singer Twin Fan Bissell rebrand question?

I don’t think Singer ever made a twin-fan upright for Bissell. Singer sold their patented twin fan upright under the Singer name, and also under the Kenmore and Sunbeam names. The only other company selling an upright with two fans and two suction channels was General Electric. The “bag in...

    Synthetic bags

You might try Numatic Henry synthetic bags. From the videos I’ve seen prepared by Ibaisaic on YouTube, these seem to be very very large.

    History of steam cleaners/carpet cleaners?

I have always wondered why the terms “steam cleaner” and “deep carpet cleaner״ were used to describe machines that in essence “wash” carpets. Many of the machines don’t heat the water in their tanks, and the term “deep carpet cleaner” could be used for any vacuum that has a revolving brush...

Hoover Discontinuing the Venerable Self-Propelled Windtunnel

I just wish that TTI would continue to include Hoover’s patented WindTunnel brush roll chamber design on all their new uprights. The design has those segregated suction channels that really reduce scattering and improve pick-up from carpets!

Regina Duo-Vac - Value for Pristine Example?

Such a cool vacuum! First time I ever see the brandname repeated upside down on the hood so that you can read “Regina” while it rolls on it’s belly as well as when it is sitting on end for stair cleaning and storage. This must be the only canister cleaner in history that had a graphic like...

    Favorite vacuum store memories

Somewhere deep in the fog of childhood memories are blurry images of a visit to Empire Electric in downtown Montreal in the early 1960’s - maybe 1961 or 1962. I was 2 or 3 years old and my dad took me with him to either order our Lagoon Blue Eureka 260 Super Automatic upright, or to pick it up...

eBay auction: Eureka Prince II Model-Type 714-BV canister

It was an interesting design attempt, but the concept never lasted. The other problem I thought of is the potential damage to the motor if a dirty floor brush or dusting brush was put away inside. I can imagine the powerful suction in such close proximity to the dirty bristles would eventually...

eBay auction: Eureka Prince II Model-Type 714-BV canister

Thanks for highlighting this Eureka for sale, Paul! It’s almost worth buying just to get that vintage Eureka carton! This particular model raises an interesting question: if a cleaner’s attachments are stored inside the canister’s dust bag compartment, don’t they eventually get dirty and...

What's the consensus on 90s and 00s Eurekas?

But the Bravos had a much bigger bag than the Elites and cleaned carpeting just as well.

What's the consensus on 90s and 00s Eurekas?

I think the only outstanding Eureka vacuums from those decades are as follows: 1. Eureka Bravo One 7amp upright with no tools (around 1993) 2. Eureka SmartVac upright with suction diverter dial and brushroll shut-off (early 2000’s?) 3. Eureka World Vac power nozzle canister (around 1992) 4...
