Excessive heat is the enemy:  even slow long term heat can dry skin, overcook food, and dry out rubber/plastic, filaments, etc.   So, I actually leave my cords pulled out after vacuuming for long cleaning sessions until the motor cools down, when if not done the cord would wrap up inside the...

Anyone else ever attach a power nozzle directly to the electric hose handle and vacuum close up and personal with the rug?   It's awesome!  So intimate.
