    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

So, after some measuring and digging, I found an acutal equivalent to those pesky open cartridge bearings. These Hoovers use 1602 ball bearings. I'm planning to get some of these bearings soon to install them into my anniversary, as the bearing is what was causing the screeching.

Does anyone keep this hobby a secret?

I keep it a secret unless someone's interested. It's been discoruaged by my family, unfortunately...

    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

Given how I found pet hair in the Turbine nozzle slot, it's very likely the previous owner used it for pets.

    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

I honestly thought that TTi switched over to sealed Ball bearings on everything. I may need to replace that R4 Bearing sometime in the future or keep it clean.

    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

I do have the exact same bearings used in the transmission in the old brushroll of my Hoover self-propelled Ultra. I also finished up the job and it sounds much better compared to before. Before: After:

Also, didn’t he use a Kirby in comparison to a hyper-efficient power nozzle with no brushroll on a test with cat litter as part of his video saying that you don’t need a brushroll? Which, IDK, was a vacuum he KNEW performed bad on cat litter?

    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

So, I just started getting to work on the gears of the transmission and they’re perfectly fine. They do need greasing, though, and the bearings are starting to go bad. Off to Amazon to get some R4 bearings! Yes, these are what these self propelled Hoovers and all other Hoovers use.

    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

This one's from April 2010, after the recession, so that's definitely possible.

    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

It was very used. Strange, because my 2001 Self-Propelled Windtunnel was also heavily used and the transmission sounds perfect in it.

    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

    Luckily, I have this stuff.

    Hoover Anniversary self-propelled windtunnel.

What is going on with the transmission, though?
