    All Blue Floating Constellations

The only all-blue Constellation model I know of was the model 454, which was finished in Nassau Blue (a bright, slightly greenish blue) and Pearl White.

    elites, elites, elites!

Here is my slice of the Hoover Elite pie An Elite 350 model U4463-900, manufactured in April 1991, with a complete attachment set.

    My Collection!

That Dial-A-Matic is a beauty! My paternal grandmother had that same model, as well as a Hoover Constellation model 82. Definitely a cleaner to treasure!

Must be something in the (Rainbow) water...?

Very Nice! A friend of mine for whom I used to clean house had that same model. She had the full-sized power nozzle, but not the miniature, which would have been a great help in getting her pomeranian's hair off of her carpeted stairs! Looks like you really got your money's worth on that deal...

Finally Got The Cord Changed On My Sanitare!!!

Actually it's very wise to leave slack in the cord when you are wrapping it (particularly at the point where the cord emerges from the cleaner), to prevent unnecessary strain on the wiring or connectors. You have a fine cleaner there, and it's commendable to see that you take such good care of it.

    Concept One Help!

To aid in your search for the problem, you can also get a schematic drawing of the Concept One from the Hesco Vacuum Cleaner parts website, which I believe is www.hescoinc.com

    Concept One Help!

The reason for the sudden motor failure could simply be worn-out carbon motor brushes that need to be replaced. You may want to look into that possibility, as they are not particularly difficult to replace. I wish you the best of luck- I also have a model U3315 from 1989, and I absolutely love it!

    Curbside HOOVER find!!

Acrolect That Custom Convertible is gorgeous! I have a very similar model, but the outer bag on mine is a gradient stripe pattern (similar to the Decade 80) rather than a floral pattern. John, congratulations on finding your model 33! A neighbor of mine had one years ago with a red power...

    HOOVER Brush Vac

You are indeed about to get what I daresay is among the finest hand cleaners ever developed! In additiin to all the wonderful features John mentioned, they also use a "clean-fan" design in which no dirt or debris ever passes through the suction fan-a wonderfully advantageous feature where...

    LOL

I'm pretty sure what they meant was that it was only half the price of an efficient, motor-driven vacuum cleaner, but it was just phrased awkwardly and the copywriter simply didn't catch it. In a similar vein, there was a Culligan Water Softener commercial years ago, which advised viewers to...

Hoover Concept One - Powerdrive issue?

The belt you are going to need is part #160147AG, package #402010-49 (they may also be identified as Type 49 belts.) Being a fellow Concept One owner, I wish you the best with yours!

    vintage hoover pictures

1926700 I absolutely LOVE that Concept One! My mother had the very similar U4203 when I was a kid, finished in a very warm Pale Honey and Rust Brown color scheme. She should never have gotten rid of it! But, life goes.on, and I have since found a lovely Concept One U3315-070 which has proven a...

    2 speed convertibles

Yes, indeed. The front-conversion.Convertible models.had two-speed motors. On those models, the.speed selector switch was so positioned so that, when the handle was raised.to.the locked.upright position, the motor automatically switched to the higher speed.

    Commercial Vacuums

I also use commercial cleaners in my home I own a Hoover Guardsman model C1631, which I have had for the last 10 years, and is still serving me well.

    Outer Bag Cleaning Idea

If you are dealing with an older cleaner, it would likely be safer to use a straight-suction upholstery nozzle to clean the outer bag. I personally use my Hoover Dimension canister with its upholstery nozzle to clean the outer bags of my Hoover Guardsman, Convertible and Concept One uprights...

    Curb-picked Eureka Upright

That cleaner will look great once it's all cleaned up! Is the trim on.that model "big bad Orange" or some shade of red? The accumulated dirt makes it difficult to tell in a photograph.

    Outer bag for Hoover 344?

The best thing to do would be to go to a vacuum cleaner repair shop in your area, and ask for a replacement cloth outer bag for the Hoover Guardsman upright, which shares the same basic design concept as your 344. The bag you will likely get will be dark gray with a black herringbone pattern...

Top Fill Or Bottom Fill Bags?

Actually I have never had that problem. I own a Hoover Convertible U4127 which uses bottom-fill bags, and I have never had a problem with dirt spilling out. The major bulk of the dirt does stay in the bag while it is installed in the cleaner because 1. The picked-up dirt is mostly a thick...

    Penncrest Convertible

A very handsome Penncrest! As far as the color-do my eyes deceive me, or is that Hoover's "medium seal.greige" gracing that 1960s domestic icon?

HOOVER disenfectant hand held or mop steamers

I have the handheld steamer And I absolutely love it! It does an excellent job of loosening soap scum and other tenacious soil from my bathroom fixtures, and does so without the harsh chemicals. It's great to actually clean my bathroom without having to nurse a headache afterward! It also saves...
