    Is this worth it? Tristar.....

Generic wands... For end users like myself who don't need genuine replacement parts, do you have any suggestions for generic wands for use with a generic dusting brush or unpowered bare floor tool? I have a bunch of random plastic wands lying around. Haven't had the time to try it out, though...

    Is this worth it? Tristar.....

re: Eureka PN Doh! I just saw your post re: the Eureka PN, twocvbloke. It answers my question that I posted afterward. I missed your comment about the Eureka PN until just now.

    Is this worth it? Tristar.....

Do the old Eureka PNs fit on the Tristar wands as-is, or do you need an adapter? I have a Rotomatic and a 50th Anniversary CXL. It would be cool if it just fits. Lucky find, that new and spiffy Tristar for $15. Congrats! That's very lucky!

Will vacuuming damp carpets damage my machine?

Turbocat... Is the Turbocat better than your run-of-the-mill turbo brush? If it's good, a Turbocat and a wet dry vac sound like a good combo.

What are suction and airflow, and how are they related?

I'm trying to wrap my head around these concepts but am kinda confused. What exactly are suction and airflow, and how are they related? I can picture a vacuum wand the diameter of a drinking straw. I could see how it could generate a lot of localized suction, but very little airflow. On the...

    SEBO CONSUMABLES & NEWS

K3... You mentioned you weren't too keen on your K3. Why not? I thought it's supposed to be a good machine. I had an opportunity to purchase a used K3 around the same time I got my Felix. Both were used, the K3 in better shape and just a little more expensive. I could only afford to get one...

Will vacuuming damp carpets damage my machine?

Dampness... Truth be told, I do avoid vacuuming on wet days. I usually wait for a lull in the weather. So in the worst case the carpet is just slightly damp. Probably not enough moisture to show up on a paper towel if pressed to the floor. Still, your point is well taken. I'll use a wet dry...

    which do you prefer

Tandem Air... Isn't Tandem Air a proprietary technology featured in some higher end Riccar machines? IIRC, it combines both a direct air motor and a clean air motor in one machine to get extra cleaning power. I could be wrong, though.

Bumper... Okay, so it is worn or broken. Any idea if Sebo will sell a replacement bumper over the phone or web? I tried looking for an authorized dealer my area and can't seem to find one. So the Felix doesn't self stand with the parquet head on? Makes sense. I may actually hang my Felix by...

Will vacuuming damp carpets damage my machine?

Good advice, guys. I'll look into getting a good wet/dry for those days when it's raining or snowing.

    which do you prefer

My daily driver is a clean air machine - either a Tacony-style Dustcare 5600C, a Sanitaire cyclonic bagless, or a Windsor Versamatic. For weekly or bi-weekly deep cleaning, however, it's a direct air Sanitaire. The reason I use clean air for daily use is because it's much more versatile - it...

We'd all love to see that chart! It's not available on the web, is it?

    SEBO CONSUMABLES & NEWS

I never thought my Felix was terribly loud. I'll fire it up again to see, but I always thought the sound level was very reasonable. If the new motor is even quieter, that would be super nice. Cooler running and more reliable are fantastic, too. But if there's no real performance advantage, them...

Will vacuuming damp carpets damage my machine?

I'm an apartment manager in a town that's often rainy. Just recently, we had a bit of a snowfall too. So as you can imagine, the carpet at the apartment building entryway gets a bit damp as people come in. It's usually rain water but during the snowfall it was unmelted snow which got tracked in...

    HOPELESS ACCESSORIES/TOOLS

Well, those cheap turbo pet brushes count as hopeless. I'm talking about the ones about the size of a fist that go onto the end of a wand or hose. There are some well made ones, but the cheap ones are louder than heck (screamers: hearing protectors required), vibrate like crazy, and break real...

    HOPELESS ACCESSORIES/TOOLS

Ah, you mean "hopeless," or... Ha, ha. Depends on what you mean by hopeless. Do you mean hopelessly useless, hopelessly ineffective, hopelessly difficult to find or replace, hopelessly expensive or overpriced, hopelessly engineered? I guess there's plenty of room under "hopeless" to cover...

Royal, Kirby, Sanitaire for use on hard floors?

They still sell it... Thanks for the link on Kirby floor pad. Yes, a number of online vac shops and Amazon have it for about $20. I'm considering getting it, but I like your idea about just using the Kirby as a canister. One thing that's turning me off about using the Kirby as an upright on...

    SEBO CONSUMABLES & NEWS

Awesome! I will check it out. I'm 100% sure I have the older motor in mine. C'est La Vie. I've been pretty happy with it. Makes you wonder, though, why Sebo decided to change motors. Were there issues with the older motor, or did consumers complain about the performance? Was the new motor...

Royal, Kirby, Sanitaire for use on hard floors?

Hi, Yes, I know the hairs are standing on the back of your neck because the brushroll would trash the floor. But has anyone adapted one of these high-airflow machines to work on hard floors by taking out the brushroll and belt? The reason I ask is because I'll be moving to a house with mainly...

    SEBO CONSUMABLES & NEWS

Felix motor... When did they upgrade to a new motor? Is there a way of finding out whether my Felix has the old vs. new motor? I've been happy with my Felix, but when one hears it's been improved, the neurosis starts kicking in - if you know what I mean. One thing about the new cloth bags -...
