Alright guys, I located a company in NJ that specializes in metal restoration and will polish up my 560 to a mirror. Really can't wait. The question I have is seeing as Kirby still has someone manufacturing new replacement trim for the older model restorations, could I possibly contact them...

My 560 without question. All she needs is an industrial polish and she's perfect. 100% original too! Next to my Dyson.

The new ones do lack something. Soul.. as if a vacuum can have such a thing. But every time I grab my 560 I feel just as I did in the early 80's when I first found my grandmoms. It was just so cool! Still is.. in fact I think its gotten cooler with age.

What the heck is a 562???

Those pictures is what motivated mt to do a 560/561 project. It's the vacuum that means so much to me from my childhood. And I'm only 29. When I have all the parts correct I'm going to ger her polished just like that! Thanks for the help everyone.

hummm.. Well, I have enough time so I will try to find one. I found the bag and I never thought I would find one in that condition. So hopefully I strike gold twice. :) Do you know if I could purchase the ends from Kirby and buy new gray cord and have it made? Just curious. Thanks for the help!

Thanks.. I searched far and wide for that bag. I need a new front cover and a few odds and ends then it will be ready for the polisher. :)
