So appreciative that you demonstrated them! More than just pics, it's such a cool thing to be able to hear the motors, see the bag inflate, look at the gorgeous details like the little red Hoover (bakelite?) emblem above the light that is illuminated...   What a treat!   You really know...

    electrolux model 11

Off the charts! That is one bad ass machine!    It is amazing that it still works after so many decades.. and the body and wooden attachments' condition is stunning!   Those sparks you can see from the brushes is a combination of artistic and scary as hell!   I wonder if it was...

    My Electrolux Automatic G!

Gorgeous! Boy does that look almost mint!  I love my two Gs, one in teal and another in brown/beige.  They have great suction for an older machine and are easy to pull around and use for over an hour without overheating!   Try these HEPA cloth bags, they work very well and fit perfectly...

    Odd Early Electrolux Accessory

Owner's manual doesn't list ingredients. You're right, most likely it was toxic earlier on.   But let's hope they changed the formula by the 50s!   And, yes, other brands like Lewyt had similar attachments. [this post was last edited: 8/26/2018-13:26]

    Thrift store surprise!

pre-motor filter I would say it's important.  I remember the pre motor filter getting slightly caked with light colored dust over the period of a few months use.  I think because the paper bags back then were not hepa type.  If you can get hepa type bags, then it might be okay.  otherwise...

    Thrift store surprise!

Beautiful!  I remember mine had a pre motor dark color foam type filter around the circular motor intake.   I found it for you... see link.    Enjoy using the vacuum.   It ws my first new vacuum purchase as a teenager...

    How to choose vacuum cleaner?

What's your budget? Do you want a refurbished classic machine or something new?  What other types of flooring do you have that the new machine will have to contend with?   Looks like a gorgeous new home, btw.  Congrats!
