Does anyone else have trouble buying vacuums?

My conclusion, after reading half the post and none of the replies, you truly needn’t give a f—k what other people think! WHO CARES what anyone thinks of you looking at old vacuums??!!

Central Vacuum-- Have I reached the Pinnacle?

So far I’m happy with the Vacuflo one that came with the tool kit, but I also love the Compact and Electrolux ones as well as Wessel-Werk’s offerings. My favorite of all is the one with plastic squeegees instead of bristles, per hair and lint can’t get caught up on them!

What's the best screw gun for restoring vacs?

Here’s what I use, a smaller Hitachi cordless drill. From playing with it the 6 setting on the torque clutch it about the same as hand tight. If it’s delicate I’ll lower it.

Cast Cutter with Eureka Vacuum Cleaner

Those are so cool! Eureka built the machine specially so they could add that pole and saw. Saw one up close and personal when I had to have a cast removed off of my left arm... I want one, just not $140 bad...

What in the Name of Henry Dreyfuss Have We Here?

My real interest in vacuums begins with this era, right as they started to be more streamlined and stylish, they look like they’re flying through the air as you push it across the rug! Then we started getting all these fun colors soon after! I love the older machines too, but visually this nd...

Switching Euro motor for US motor on Sewing Machine

Personally I think it’s simpler to just get a step up transformer and then just the machine in its factory form. I’ve got a couple 240v vacuums in my collection, and I would love some more.

    Which hand do you...

I write with my right hand, but in every other activity I’m ambidextrous. I’ve noticed, when eating steak, for example, most right handed people use their right hand to cut and hold the fork with their left. I’ve always used the knife left handed, if fact it feels clumsy to use my right hand...

    I am being silly, but.......

Alex Tabor once emptied a water bed with a Kirby that had two hoses attached, one out the window and the other in the mattress drain!

How to flock and de-flock a Christmas tree.

That’s really ‘flocking’ convenient! I’ve heard of this attachment before! Someone told me about the thing years ago, today so few vacuums have blower ports that you couldn’t really sell them now.

I was robbed, robbed I tell you

Yikes! Between the bidding and the insane prices, I don’t bother with anything on eBay unless it has the buy it now option! And that’s assuming the price isn’t ridiculous already...
