    Picked up a Discovery II

OMG Edgar you made a Franken Electrolux-Shark vacuum LOL! :) But seriously though, congrats on the repair! I would have done the same, who cares if it's a different colour and you had to make the hole the switch goes in slightly larger with a Dremel? The vacuum was already non-original anyways...

    KitchenAid model 38 stand mixer

Edgar, looking forward to seeing the mixer all restored and finished. It's gonna be a beauty when you're done with it and ready to give to your friend! :)

Another person asking what vacuum to buy...

Stan - For starters, since you say 1/3 of your condo is bare floor, do you use your vacuum to clean your floors? Or do you sweep? Or, let's put it this way - would you use a floor brush on a vacuum and vacuum bare floors? If the answer to that is yes, then I would consider a Sebo Felix. Yes...

    MY NEW VINTAGE KIRBY WEBSITE!

David I have said this before on another thread, but your Kirby website is absolutely stunning! And especially the work you put into restoring those Kirby's. You are a great and valuable resource to the Kirby collectors out there, and even just every day people who want to find out more info...

the Blue 🔵 Compact Electra is back.

Antoine, your CXL PN has a geared belt? Those PN's are exceeding rare and hard to come by! Not many of those were made for too long before Aerus Holdings bought TriStar and came out with the EXL. You might want to look into acquiring a spare brushroll, motor and geared belt to have as spares, as...

    Clean Obsessed "Electrolux"

I think one thing holding back canisters from being as popular as uprights is that nobody demonstrates or trains the user how to use them. If a consumer sees both a upright and a canister side by side, and gets shown by a sales rep how to use both and gets the consumer to try, it should become...

Kirby R model -- My Sales Experience

$18,000 for a Kirby R?! Yeah, right!!! Patrick, come back when you're ready to be REALISTIC about what a old, early Kirby should be priced at.

the Blue 🔵 Compact Electra is back.

Very nice Antoine! The 3 vacuums are looking great :-) . How are you enjoying the DustCare PB11 powerhead you bought? And how do you find it compares to the TriStar powerhead? One thing I did with my Miracle Mate and Patriot, since they have the original hoses with no powerhead switch and...

    Clean Obsessed "Electrolux"

I had a look at the Perfect C103 white version of this vacuum a few months ago, as one was in at a local vac shop for repairs as I was picking up some parts. Yes, it is a nice vacuum, BUT it also has some drawbacks. The plastic ring on the exhaust filter that mounts it to the canister, and...

    Kirby Model 4C

Ben, good luck on the restoration. And yes, like ODavid said, let's see those before and after pics after the restoration is complete please :-)

    A pic is worth a 1000 words . Ezee 1914 with a 2024 Platinum ❤️

Very nice pic David! And hopefully Kirby carries on for another 110 years :-) .

    found a kirby !

Melissa, a Royal Style 8 knurled belt for the Royal Metal Uprights and Royal Canister Powerteam ( newer plastic style with HEPA Filter and Style R bags ) and Eureka PT Canister Powerteam belts will fit any model Kirby from the Kirby Classic ( 1970 ) to present. However, DO NOT USE THOSE BELTS...

    Is it me or.....

Garry, the powerhead neck, wands, hose handle and tools from the Aerus Guardian Platinum and Aerus Guardian Ultra are interchangeable with the TriStar EXL, MG1, MG2, MG3 and CS. The powerhead neck, wands, hose handle and tools from the Aerus Lux Legacy, Epic 6500, Renaissance, Epic 8000, Epic...

    Forgotten Bissell Products

PureAir & Powerclean Rob, just a warning - if you do get your hands on one, immediately disassemble the vacuum and install a cord protector where the cord meets the body of the vacuum. Those vacuums had a recall on them from the CPSC in America for that very reason.

    Hoover Potapower score

Ben, the Hoover PortaPower III was actually pretty common in Canada....it sold in Zellers for $169.99 in the mid 90s. I actually owned one for a couple years - nice vac, but the bag size and poor filtration led me to pass it on to Mom and traded her for a nice Hoover Elite hard body upright with...

    Here we go again

Jim, I love that cartoon! Thanks for posting it. A interesting little tidbit for the Americans on the forum - here in Ontario, Canada, it is illegal for a city, town, village, municipality, housing development, condo board or housing committee to ban clothes lines. And I think that's a good...

Hoover windtunnel twin chamber, plus some updates

Alex, I couldn't agree with you more! These Hoover Windtunnel Twin Chamber uprights, whether it be direct air or bypass like this one, are HORRIBLE cleaners. They may clean carpets well....but that lasts for about 10 minutes until the filter starts clogging and it loses airflow quickly. And the...

    Eureka and Sanitaire Pictures

All the Eureka canisters that use the Style S bag are HORRIBLE MACHINES! The build quality on them is really bad....very common to see the wands, motors and circuit boards failing on these models and their comparable Electrolux AB counterparts. Plus the bags are small, overpriced and don't work...

Lewyt “Big Wheel” 1955 Corporate How To Film

Thanks for posting this Brian. Love the Lewyt vacuum they used....I have the exact same one used, and plan to restore it soon.

    Vacuum’s caught on fire

Kenny, it's a good thing your Mom was using a Kirby from the 70s - since it had the metal fan, the bag patch was all that needed to be done. If it was a Tradition or later model, you would be needing to change the fan too. Back a few years ago, I answered a Kijiji ad that said "Free Hoover...
