    Who manufactures vacuum hoses?

I see. Looks like the only service EU product lines and you can't communicate with them unless you are an account holder

This is the ultimate old Chrysler product IMHO

Ever see a flick from the 1980s called "The Fourth Protocol" where a Russian GRU agent was plotting to blow up RAF Upper Heyford with a little shotgun style uranium weapon he carried around on the back of a BMW K75 motorcycle? Pierce Brosnan played the Russian GRU officer and he did his own...

Another visit from the Hose Fairy

I'm pinching myself. I have been looking high and low for all three items, but especially the hose. The Filter Fairy is being very kind to me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sears-Kenmore-Magicord-Canister-Vacuum-Hose-amp-attachments-/331322759798?

KSSRC is proud to present the DUO-POWER DUO!

I'm sure the homes in your neighborhood are of that certain vintage that some avocado shag carpet is sure to turn up at the curb during a remodeling or carpet replacement. Either way, I will gladly look at images of the two vacuums on more modern carpets. Lets see how this new to you camera...

Parts for Kenmore 2.0 Magicord canister from early '70s

You are correct. I'm sure a thin piece of foam is all Kenmore originally used as a pre-motor filter. Cut a piece to size, poke a hole in the middle and you're done. Finding the material, however, is not so easy. I have been waiting for a couple of weeks now for some thin open cell foam...

This is the ultimate old Chrysler product IMHO

The US Navy had steam electric warships before WWII. Many old WWI era battleships and the two Lexington class aircraft carriers had big DC drive motors and their steam turbines drove big DC generators. The shortcoming of electric drive motors was they could never generate as much shp in the...

There were (maybe still are) 155 mm nuclear artillery rounds. They could be fired from any 155 mm (6.1 inch) artillery piece. That warhead, the W48, is the smallest nuclear warhead I am aware of. Man, talk about pucker, sticking a live nuke into the barrel of a big artillery piece and...

    Nice little airshow tonight

These were close enough to see the tail markings on the Hoover (what we called the old S-3 Viking in the Navy due to the sound of it's turbofan engines, the pilots even wore Hoover logos on their flight suits and I am sure Hoover vacuum approved). You could look up into the wheel wells of the B-2.

Yeah baby! I might still have some bell bottoms in the closet somewhere, not that I could fit in them any more. :o

    Who manufactures vacuum hoses?

I'm wondering if anyone knows who manufactures the various vacuum hoses, especially those for central vacuums, on the market today? Also who manufactures hose ends and things like the gas pump style nozzles? Plastiflex is one but they are from Belgium. Who would make hoses and ends for...

Diesel electric propulsion overcome the inability of those big diesels to reverse quickly. Hook the diesel to big AC gen set and turn the props with an AC motor. You can reverse an AC motor rapidly while leaving the diesel run at it's most economical speed turning the AC gen set. Using...

Yet our best APFSDS round won't defeat the frontal armor on an M-1A2. Nor will Hellfire or Javelin anti-tank missiles. When one of our Abrams was disabled someplace in Iraq where we could not recover it and the alternative was to destroy it, only the old reliable Maverick had enough energy to...

    Nice little airshow tonight

One of the benefits of being on the downwind leg of the touch and go pattern of a major military airfield, in this case Plant 42 at Palmdale, is seeing some interesting aircraft in flight. Tonights featured aircraft were one of only four remaining S-3B Vikings in service (NASA operates one and...

Sulzer builds container ship diesel engines with as much as 108,000 shp on a single shaft at 80-105 rpm. Eight or nine cylinders in line with bores of around 3 meters and strokes in the neighborhood of ten meters. One such engine is used to power single shaft container ships up to 150,000...

This is the ultimate old Chrysler product IMHO

My work is in the weapons world. DU has indeed been phased out of the Navy inventory except for the 120 mm APFSDS round fired by the M-1A1s and A2s or the Marine Corps. For defeating tank armor, especially the latest generations of reactive armor like Kactus, DU is still preferred. Tungsten...

KSSRC is proud to present the DUO-POWER DUO!

Home Depot sells a really ugly piece of shag carpet I use as an entry mat under the dog door. Some Minolta digital cameras can use the same lenses as your old auto focus Minolta 35 mm film SLRs. If your Minolta SLRs were manual focus like mine you're SOL and have to buy something more...

    Say what now?

Sebo_Fan, not everyone has been collecting vacuums for a long period of time. This is a place to share information, not to shame someone who maybe doesn't know everything there is to know like you do. You owe tomvacuum10 an apology.

    Sanyo Performax

I dunno, the Sanyo has it's belt drive and motor on the opposite side of the Panasonic and Tacony uprights shown in the photos and the bag chamber is much narrower.

    The Jubilee
