A good tip for taking the Tristar halves apart is to take a thin slotted screw driver and slide it in between the rubber bumper and the top shell, and pry the top shell up off of the bumper. Helps taking the two shells apart faster. That machine looks great! I serviced 4 Tristars in 1 day last...

Yeah my hose is newer, its around 7 years old now Daniel :-)

Forgot to note that mine is the standard wire reinforced non electric nutone hose. Its the most basic hose you can get that is durable, and I love it.
