So I was hoping for some advice on how to get a new hose on this attachment. Do I put it in boiling water to get that form fitting rubber/vinyl sleeve off? Can I buy some sort of new one? What hose should I use or should I repurpose one that is vintage? Also, has anyone done a color match...

Anyway I did clean it up a bit and of course the motor sounds good so I was able to get some parts. There is one on Ebay right now that could use that handle.

Use some Mothers aluminum polish from the auto parts store. Be careful around any printed logos etc.

I had to cut up the old unit to create a brace to hold the newer part in place. There was a lot of honing on this and this isn't complete yet

So here I am trying to grind this newer one to be thinner and smaller so it will fit in the same slot as the old one. I had this so the budget on this is basically zero. This took longer than I thought. I had to stop and put some ice on it as it might damage the rubber part in there...
