    Vintage Vacuum Bags

I have some Safeway-branded Electrolux bags stuffed away somewhere. It's strange to see a grocery store, of all places, selling vacuum bags.

What direct-air vacuums do you like?

In terms of style, nothing beats the twin motor Air-Way. However, for actual cleaning, I would go with a late 80's to early 90's Royal or a G-series Kirby.

Hoover Senior You would want to look for a Hoover Senior from the UK, which is what the Convertible range was called over there.

Your recommendation for vac to clean 1 wall-to-wall carpet

If you want to get a Kirby, I recommend looking for a G7 Diamond Edition, since it has a unique 2-speed switch that no other Kirby model has.

    Hoover Z

Here's a Hoover Z I found on Facebook Marketplace. The seller claims to ship, but I'm not sure if they will follow through or not. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/687182399133384/

Name the movie this vacuum cleaner was in....

Revelation The Revelation was a version of the Compact sold in stores instead of salesmen. The movie prop may have been based on one of those units. There is a Revelation nameplate on eBay right now if you want to swap it onto your machine.

Comparison to buy Kirby G5 and Ultimate G

Ultimate G The Ultimate G 30 miles away appears to be the Diamond Edition, which has an additional low speed option for delicate rugs. For that reason, I would say that it is the better of the two.

Rear tube part for GE/Eureka bagged upright

Cord Hook Cutting the hook off and gluing it onto the old part may be possible, but it will most likely require an extremely strong glue.

Rear tube part for GE/Eureka bagged upright

Would it be possible to cut down the tube from the Volta or will that make the cord hook too low?

    AllerCare Dust Mite Carpet Powder

If the powder made people sick, I wouldn't risk using it. Just keep it sealed as a historical item or something.

    Introduction and a Repair Question

I have a junker 1-CR motor unit. It's been sitting outside for several years, and the motor won't turn on, even though the headlight does. However, it has the original switch. I also have an original handle with the plastic piece you need. If you are interested, please send an email to the...

    Sweeper Vac!!

The Sweeper-Vac uses a worm gear to turn a pulley underneath the motor housing, and an exposed belt turns the brushroll. The brushroll can be turned off via the switch on the back, but if it is turned off while the vacuum is running, the gears can get stripped. If the vacuum was in better...

    Need Help Repairing Air-Way Chief

Bearings I was able to attach the brushroll using two of the Flanged Sleeve Bearing with 1/4 in Inside Dia. and 3/8 in Outside Dia. from Grainger. The fit is not exact and there is more vibration than I like, but the brushroll does turn decently. A Hoover Quadraflex belt fits fine. Now all I...
