GE vac of the day upright

I have used one. My grandmother had one but by the time I was born she had a hoover convertible (model 70 I believe) and the GE retired to the basement. During a brief period when my moms model 33 was done she retrieved this from my grandmothers basement. I loved it. It was so different from...

    roseanne vacuum

Snapped this over the weekend from the TV show Roseanne. Always thought they didn't matched this up very well for the show. the family was always just getting buy and I don't think they would have bought this expensive of a vacuum.

    Abandoned Hoover 65 (I think)

I am fascinated by a town (that used to exist) called Centralia Pennsylvania. It was a town that was abandoned because of an underground mine fire. Found this random photo

    North Texas Mini-Meet 11/8/2014

So very bummed I had to miss this mini-meet this year. Looks like fun was had by all. Knowing a few of the faces in the pictures and of course Sean well, I know I missed out on some great conversation, both about vacuums and umm ….. well you know!!

    The 1959 General Electric Upright

When our model 33 hand bail broke in about 1976, my mom went to my grandmother’s garage and grabbed this vacuum from her. She evidently retired it to the garage in the late 60’s and replaced it with a Hoover convertible. I loved this vacuum as it was so different than the convertible...

    older Singer/Kenmore uprights

Question Specifically the ones with the handle activated switch. When you used the attachments did you have to drop the handle into the operating position for the machine to turn on or was there some kind of override?

Hoovers Used in Schools Back in the Day

My grammar school had an American Lincoln Super Sweep. Of course I would always come back after school and help vacuum the carpets with the janitor. At the time I thought is was a complete piece of junk, always throwing the belt and knocking the cap off. Little did I know it would become a...

    recent vacuum sightings on TV

SyFy Original Being Human. Besides Downton Abbey my favorite show on TV. Last week’s episode a vintage constellation and this week’s episode a filter queen with power nozzle. The hose was replaced on the filter queen. I believe they actually used the machines in the shoot because the sound...

    Vacuum sighting in Movie

Couldnt sleep last night and stayed up late watching the Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy mini series. There is a scene when she is re-doing The White House where a Hoover model 28 is being used (bag inflated too) and in the middle of the room is a turquoise Airway not in use.

    Vorwerk find

For me – the find of the century. I have always wanted one ever since I started with my company 21 years ago and we had them bagged “Advance Mighty Maids” – wish I would have kept one as they are scarce in the states to my knowledge. On Craig’s list last week I found a Vorwerk VT120 complete...
