    Electrolux Model 4?

looks more like .......the Luton built model x (10) but without the carrying strap. The Lady, typical looking post-war british housewife, probably did use the upholstery nozzle for most of her cleaning as the X was 190 watts and was fitted with one fan; it was really a lower powered model VI...

I landed the mother load with Vintage Electrolux cylinders

Great haul!!! Hello Gareth, The 'hose coupling to machine suction end' on the 32 is unusual, how does it work, do you have the hose? I have never seen this model before, I imagine its quite rare; a bit like our UK built Z18? The 'croc finish covered' cleaner does not appear to have the usual...

    Lux model VI

Hello Tommy, Great pics, How I would love a pliable all metal hose for my Lux V! The motor 'cowling' on the VI does seem quite big I wonder if that suggests that it is a two fan motor, would it be fitted with sleeve or ball race bearings? Perhaps Mike might know? Tommy, Mike, Do either of...

    Hoover [junior] U1104

there's nothing like .......holding a 'chalky white' 'bedding-in' stick against the commutator and seeing a modest and even sparking is occuring, then you know the refurb is complete!

Hoover Junior 370 - polished alloy

I distinctly remember ........about eighteen months to two years ago a polished 370 just like Jonathan's appeared on ebay. It was located in I think; Northampton and was a 'collect only'. It was in the same top notch condition and the seller said it ran well. It only fetched around £50...

    New EU Regs

'to be fitted with twin fan motor' ......I thought that the likes of numatics had always been fitted with two fans; if they had then the motor wattages would never had to be 1000 plus!!!!!!!!

YAY I got my Agnes Moorehead Hoover so so so excited!!!!!

is it ......true that Ms Moorehead came in time to dislike her 'Endora' character as few people rarely wished to credit her with her previous work such as her time with the 'Mercury Players'?

    New Henry for Summer 2014

Numatic 'floating carpet nozzle' ......as supplied with, if my memory serves me: 'Basil'; henry shaped but no cord rewind. In production 1988-95ish? Nozzle was all in black plastic, large rear wheels near elbow, small wheel either side of the 'single channel' type suction opening, small red...

Other vacs I've acquired. A Goblin, Hitachi, Nil.....

wizard 'fibre' ext tube .........(according to a pre war 'little book of the goblin' brochure) was also supplied. Never seen one; I imagine they would have been made from a sort of hardboard similar to that used to create the bodies of the post 1935 to circa 1955 cylinder models. The ext...

Help - Hoover 375 Leaning Issue

my 375 handle also leans backwards a little ...........I think it probably is weakening/ware of the release spring due to age and the weight of the rather solid handle. Compare the 375 handle/bracket to the 119 bracket/strong release spring and light aluminium handle parts? Regards, Walter,

CLASH OF THE COLLECTORS tv show airing now worldwide on NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

SPALESINA Hello Guido, I recall visiting my physiotherapist as a boy during the mid to late 1960's and one day he produced a cream coloured rounded plastic bodied mini vac which now was obviously of the SPALESINA type. Do you know which make this could have been? I had never seen one before...

    1974 Hoover Junior Dirtsearcher 1354A

if only .....I'd had the complete and original Hoover grease gun (given to me by a retired hoover dealer just before Christmas) when I regularly picking up 119/1300 range juniors and seniors; how much easier the job of greasing motor and agitators would have been!!! Never mind, the gun itself...

    1974 Hoover Junior Dirtsearcher 1354A

Hello Alex, lovely job. I wish I had kept the 1354a I bought at a local auction years ago. It can't have been more than a fiver and was no at all dirty, also, I did not need to replace anything.....why did I sell it!!!! Your pics were great also. Excuse the oldie for going on but I actually...

    UK Lux 55/62/65 convertor ring.

Hello UK Lux Lovers, I am looking to buy a couple of those white plastic convertor rings that pushed into the bag chamber cover to allow for the use of the later plastic bayonet type of hose. Hope someone can help? Cheers, Walter, Newport, Shropshire. A genuine lux white pvc hose complete...

Sanitaire isn't what it used to be...

I bought .........a five year old ZC880 upright early last December as I had so many bags from somewhere or the other. I would describe it as rather like a conventional dirty fan cleaner, late hoover commercial senior type,in red plastic. Its 700 watts and has a 'dial' type of height...
