An air purifier it is not. I do use mine more during the winter as a humidifier. I usually have to add a cup of water a day. I sleep with mine on but, I enjoy the white noise it makes.

I remember when I got mine for $79 from the Eureka site itself onsale. I see the online world has noticed it being discontinued. There all $200 and up. Such a shame!
