    Help Needed

I have a couple "generic" grey Royal bags that I hope to dye black, then have logos printed on (silk screen maybe?) for a couple of my pre-war Electro-Hygienes. Having never done any dyeing myself, I would appreciate any suggestions or hints that any of you might have who have dyed bags before...

    Hello from Canada

Welcome aboard! You'll find there are quite a few Electrolux people here and I have 4 vintage models myself: a XII, XXX, Automatic E, and a G.

    Long-time lurker, now a member

Welcome aboard Tank! I agree with Paul, nice collection and good variety! I also have a 725 and 28 Hoovers, and one that belonged to my maternal Grandmother, a model 82 Hoover Constellation that Grandpa bought for her for their 40th anniversary in April 1955, which unfortunately was their last...

    Royal 888 Polisher Head (NOS)

Had a look at the listing, and as much as I would like to have one for my 980 Electro-Hygiene, I sure don't want one bad enough to pay $200 for it!

    New member intro

Welcome Aboard! My interest in vacuum cleaners also started at an early age, and by the time I was 3 or 4 I knew what vacuums my parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles, and friends' parents had, and where they kept them! I actually sold Electro-Hygiene during my last year of high school and a few...

    what is this ?

Looks like someone was working with photoshop or some form of AI! Doesn't look like any Kirby I've ever seen, and there never was a Classic II--they went from Classic, to Omega, to Classic III.

Surface Care Appliances & Shoes in Browns & Beiges

Here's a couple of my favorite brown & tan machines! Hoover 26 & 28! And since these pics were taken, I've installed a more appropriate looking replacement bag on the 26, similar to the one on the 28.

Need GE Swivel Top curved wand

Glad to help, keep us posted! Does your Swiveltop have the chrome top or pink? I have a model VIIC3with the chrome top. Given to me by good friend and fellow collector Norm Brown many years ago when he was downsizing his collection. Thanks again Norm! The hose has been repaired since this pic...

There has been a place for me this whole time?

Welcome aboard! I can relate to what you said about the childhood interest--when I was a kid I knew what kind of vacs my parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles, and friends' parents had, and where they kept them! As for the categories, they generally fall into 4, which are upright, tank...

June 4th...the birthday of TWO Hoover legends

I agree John! And I hope that even though Tom is retiring, that he will continue to post on here and share his knowledge with us. I also enjoyed your Convertible Celebration and have several of the models pictured, including the 62, 64, 32, 1060, 1070, and U4005.

Yesteryear Grocery Shopping & True Value Trading Stamps

Paul, I love that Toro Whirlwind mower in the last of the pics you posted here! When I was growing up one of my best friend's parents had one just like it! What a joy to mow with! Liked it almost as much as the Lawn-Boys on the same era!

Welcome aboard! And since you mentioned Hoover Constellations, here's one of mine. It's a model 82 that my Grandfather bought for my Grandmother for their 40th anniversary in April 1955, which was their last anniversary before he passed away. She brought it with her when she moved in with my...

Yesteryear Grocery Shopping & True Value Trading Stamps

Yes, I remember Top Value Stamps and S & H Green Stamps! And here in Ohio, we also had Buckeye Stamps which were exclusive to the Big Bear Grocery Stores, and Plaid Stamps, which either came from A & P or Alber's, don't remember which one.

    Model XXX

Welcome Kevin! I haven't tried the liquid latex method myself, so I couldn't help you much there. The XXX was made from 1937 to 1954, except for the years 1942-1945, when the plant, as well as most other US factories switched over production for the war effort. Charles Lester could give you more...

    Some Accessories

Doug, I wish I had the caddy! However, it did come with the next best thing, a canvas caddy. And by the way, your green one looks just like the first Silver King I ever saw or ran! One of my best friends' parents had one like that when I was a kid, and if I remember right, his Dad sold them for...
