    Update--It Runs!

Some of you may remember my post a while back (Another One Off the Wish List) about a couple Electro-Hygienes (210-A tank and 2-230 upright) that I brought home from Luke Gebhart's mini meet in October. I had said in the post that the 2-230 had tripped the GFI when I plugged it in and the fan...

Vintage appliance household lover saying hello.

Of the vintage vacuums I mentioned, the Electrolux, Air Way Sanitizor, Silver King, and Royal had polisher attachments available. Those for the Electrolux are widely available, but the polishers for Air Way, Silver King, and Royal are much harder to find. Also, the lux polisher connects to the...

    Bags for Electro Hygiene canister

The paper bag for that was a simple bag with a cardboard ring on the top, similar to a Compact bag but larger diameter. VacPartsPlus, the online store for the Henry Company, might have some, or maybe ebay. Jimmy Martin (rugsucker here on Vacuumland) might also have some.

Vintage appliance household lover saying hello.

Welcome aboard Santi! Even though you don't have carpeting, I think you would find a good mid-century tank or cannister vacuum cleaner quite useful. Electrolux, Air-Way Sanitizor, Hoover Constellation, Westinghouse, Silver King, Royal, or GE would all be good choices.

    Royal metal upright hose availability

They show up from time to time on ebay, sometimes the hose itself, sometimes with a few attachments, sometimes a complete set. Also, Jimmy Martin (rugsucker here on Vacuumland) can probably help you.

    Updating the back house

Frank, the model 80 was the first model of Electro-Hygiene, which began as a wholly owned subsidiary of the P.A. Geier Company (later Royal) in March of 1934. The model 80 was produced until about 1938, when they introduced the model 94, which was produced until production stopped for WWII. So...

    Model LX

Welcome aboard! I agree with Paul, there are indeed many LX related posts to be found in the forum archives. Being your Grandmother's LX makes it that much more special! My Grandmother's model 82 Hoover Constellation will always be a special part of my collection.

    Updating the back house

Looks like it was an amazing work and storage area from the beginning, and after seeing the before pictures I can appreciate how much work went into the transformation! And seeing you working on your first restoration project brought to mind my first restoration project, my model 80...

When All You Own Are Vintage-Looking Vacuums

Royals would also fit into that category until they stopped making the metal uprights several years ago.

    Hoover Vacuum Accessories Compatibility

Hoover made the same attachments for many years that were used with the Constellation, Portable, and Slimline models, with the only difference being color. They were made in white, beige, light brown, and dark brown. Often the rug nozzle matched the cleaner, but the rest of the tools would be...

    Updating the back house

Wow! That is indeed a nice workbench & cabinet you have there, and the new paint is beautiful, as are your roses! But I'm wondering, was this building originally a garage?

    Help Needed

Thank you for your reply Edgar. However, I was actually hoping for some procedural or how to information, do's and don'ts, etc. And I'm not sure the tie dye info would be applicable, as t-shirts and vacuum bags are made from different material anyway. But thanks anyway for your rely. Hoping now...
