    Favorite Modern Hardfloor Tool

I have a black one like that gray one. Came with my Oxygen 6997. It has wheels and can clean low pile carpet. Common Electrolux item. Came in two widths and was adapted for the oval wand neck of the Oxygen 3 and Ultra silencer, and Ultra one.

Hi Looking to Purchase a New Vac

Cirrus C-99 looks like a Simplicity/Riccar that Tacony made.

Power Nozzles for Central vac or Canister

The Beam Solaire looks very similar to my green one except for the wide florescent light. It also has clear nylon bristles, not blue. Server sporadic this morning.

Power Nozzles for Central vac or Canister

My hunter green Beam imperial from the late 90's is a higher profile similar to the Eureka Express and Beam rug master shape. Later Beam imperials were totally different E-Lux variants. I saw the Champion power nozzle on a Florida seller shop Central vac's direct and and one other. Just Google...

Power Nozzles for Central vac or Canister

No doubt the Lindhaus and Sebo are best, but I think I'd get a Champion aka former Panasonic/Kenmore type or Sprite with the steel beater bar/dual brush rows. I only have are rugs. Dense wool and acrylic. Two require a soft carpet brush roll, so I have an older hunter green Beam Imperial with a...

Electrolux (eureka) Oxygen with odd wands.

I didn't get the model 6994 with those. 6997 has a Vibragroomer III power nozzle Same blue color. The 6994 was a teal green.

Does anyone keep this hobby a secret?

Try not to have internal phobia about it. My dad teased me when I was little because I liked to vacuum, but not for long. My aunt told him, "it's just a machine John!" No different than the washers and dryers you repair. The kid's gonna like what he likes! Then we found an older Hoover in the...

This little Yamaha receiver followed me home

It likely has a few bad transistors. A common vintage Yamaha problem. Unfortunately I cannot recommend a reputable servicer in your area. I know of several, but they are up here, in Buffalo NY, Brooklyn, Long Island, and Washington state. You could ship it to one of them Old school audio of Long...

Electrolux attachments & accessories for sale

Not that I "need" any, but I have a nice XXX without any factory tools. The hose has been repaired and is restrictive too,. There are some on E-bay I think.

    Sebo or Miele?

Good idea top have a vac for upstairs. Kirby's are heavy. Both German makes are good, quiet machines. Bags and filters not cheap though. I think Sebo has the better power nozzles.

Make sure to power it off when doing anything on the rear panel. F.Y.I., new Yamaha amps. and at least two channel receivers are designed for serviceability. The different boards are vey similar to a P.C. design. In the top models, the power caps. have screw terminals, and different grounding...

How do I grow my "vac shop"

Diversification is the key, and repeat customers. Be honest and concise. Don't gouge on repairs. Bad news travels as well as the good. Lose one customer, lose ten more. As you accumulate capital, buy more inventory. Mores cash flow in than out. Your competition is Amazon, Shark, and other online...

This little Yamaha receiver followed me home

Great find! Whatever it may need, it will be worth the repair. Choose a reputable tech. Some take short cuts and cause further problems resulting in more expense afterwards. Hopefully it wasn't overworked or abused, so may only need a good cleaning. Well built in the 70's but Yamaha amps. and...

Eureka Power Team - Model 1514-A

I don't know why I bought the $89 blue and white upright Vibragroomer II in late 1979 and not the model 1255 or 1514 A power team for my first apartment. The extra $40 wouldn't have broke the bank. It would have been great for bare floors in my first house too. Instead I ended up getting the...
