    Air-Way beater-bar problem

Thanks Fellas... Chad - you may laugh when I tell you about making that bumper. Here's a quick run-down: Get a 36" black rubber tie-down strap from Home Depot. Cut the hooks off the ends. The strap will have some raised-letter safety warnings on both sides. You need only concern yourself with...

    Air-Way Twin-Motor lubrication points

Charlie Thanks for the response. Figured I'd better start a new Air-Way thread as the previous Air-Way beater-bar topic somehow morphed into Mixmasters and Butta! I'm glad to know that both motors on the 35 take grease. That's what I had put in them. It's possible I used too much grease or it...

    Air-Way Twin-Motor lubrication points

To Air-Way experts: I noticed that on the 1920's suction uprights, the motor lubrication points specify "grease." It's stamped on the motor housing. That, to me, would indicate ball bearings. Here's the problem: I also have a later model Twin-Motor Air-Way. I took it upon myself to also...

    Air-Way beater-bar problem

Back to the Air-Way Topic: Charile - beater bar problems resolved, for now. An attempt was made to fashion the missing bumper. What do you think?

    Cleaning satin finish aluminum

Jim Here's photo one of my 541's. As you can see, it has a shiny finish. The other is 541 is dull, pitted and not presentable. I've seen the satin finish you're talking about - recalling it's somewhere between a rough casting and a polished look. You might try some Brasso for starters. I don't...

    Air-Way beater-bar problem

Wish it were 1935 again, so we could just go to an Air-Way dealer and buy a replacement set of beater-bars. I'm old, but this was before my time.

    Air-Way beater-bar problem

Thanks for that information. I'll have to cut and paste the literature photos. So, it would appear my machine is a Model 35 Chief or Scout? The Super Chief features a headlamp. How kewl is that? I've only seen one other Dirtmaster - truly unique.

Gosh! In 1912, if Hoovers were used aboard The Titanic, they might have been the model "0?" Brandon might have the answer.

    Air-Way beater-bar problem

Charlie - The machine in question is just like the one in your photo with the black bag on the opposite end of your Dirt Master. Can you tell me the model name and maybe pinpoint the production year(s)? Per your suggestion, I removed all of the beater bars - a simple operation as it turned out...

    Air-Way beater-bar problem

OK Charlie - I guess that does it! I'll run with those suggestions. I figured if anyone would have an answer to an Air-Way problem, it would be you. Thanks, bud BTW - would you happen to know the date range in which the Twin-Motors were produced?

    hoover 300 and 26 restoration

I'm not an expert, but thinking that the 300 may have been the less-expensive companion to the 150. I believe the 300 was manufactured during the same period as the 150. The 300's attachment hose is almost identical in design and color to that of the 150. I think that the 26 may have come along...

    Air-Way beater-bar problem

To all Air-Way experts: I am losing the beater-bars on my twin-motor. I think that I may have had the height setting to low (further away from the floor surface). Chattering resulted losing two of the rubber mounted beater-bars, given the rubber is old and perhaps dry-rotting as well. Has...
