    General Carpet Cleaning

To me the answer is self evident; it is extraction. If the dry powder method was superior, that is what you’d see the professionals use. (The professionals that drive around in vans with specialized equipment)

Here we are again with a false narrative. We’ve (you” and “me”) have discussed(?) “my” need to clean the cyclones to get rid of pet dander stink. Under normal household use, which I do not consider “abuse." -Household with two young children and one dog. By all means let me know if this fails...

I own a Smart Vac 4870! Now what?

Ohh. now I see... I zoomed in and see that one in the top is indeed burnt. I'm not familiar with that switch, but I am a 'semi retired' electrician (old career); They are probably there to keep 'accidental' operation as if the two connectors touch the vac would turn on. The burn is in a weird...

Especially for households like mine where 1 battery charge typically requires 3-5 dumps (V15). I don't see the point, its not going to save you much if any effort. I do see the point on robo vacs that have the feature, as they can at least in theory be ignored longer with the feature.

I own a Smart Vac 4870! Now what?

If you’re talking about the clear plastic pieces covering the terminals, it looks like he shrink in the picture. Even if it’s not heat shrink, if it is not shrunk and tight to the metal a little bit of brown discoloration is normal.

I own a Smart Vac 4870! Now what?

The 'burnt' plastic bits: if you are talking about discoloration on the clear insulation covering the crimp on terminals, that is from factory heat shrinking. No need to worry about that at all. The missing insulation: my guess is its rubbed off from contact with the handle.

Once again veiled insults for those who have different experiences, observations, and opinions from yourself. I ask yet again, what makes your experiences, observations, and opinions "objective evidence" and not "vague subjective anecdotes," where everyone else's are immediately deemed "vague...

Here are is my crude repairs on the V7 cracks. Its hard to see it with the lighting and the extremely professional (:ROFLMAO:) glue job, but if you look carefully you can see its along cold flow lines:

Did you ever replace the clutch or the belts in the clutch? The DC33 we have would probably be OK with those belts replaced. Light pressure; such as genlty pressing your palm stops the brushroller on ours. Was my wife's only vacuum for years. Filters were are still fine judging by when I...

    Bearing Press?

I haven't used it for vacuum related work, but yes it does. I've used it for other bearing pressing. Its one of those tools that gets used once a year or even less, but when it does it pays for itself each time.

Oh.. By 'molding flow lines' I meant the plastic parts "molding" as they were built; where the hot molten plastic becomes cold, then meets creating weak spots. This isn't mine (sorry @Vacuum Facts I am travelling for work, if you really need my personal examples I'll happily take pictures when...

Well shucks... This is similar to the one I have, around 6" of clearance: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CGJ4QT17

I would add cracked housing (molding flow line issues). I know this will blow a few minds around here but I still like my V7 after some ad hoc repairs + the dewalt tool battery conversion.

I 'fixed' my V7 cracked handle housing with epoxy, and did the 20V Dewalt battery conversion. I know some here will claim 'abuse,' but I don't exactly use vacuums like they are footballs...

    Your Dream Vacuum Cleaner...

Mine is similar to @centralsweeper63 Severely overbuilt central unit, (might as well copy his) dirt sensor added on, chameleon hidden hose system, dedicated garage and kitchen ports, Lindhaus L-ion brush heads (one per floor) No cyclone for me though, one less thing to maintain.

And what does your like/dislike ratio look like? How about criticisms versus support statements? How does the polls on this website fare for Dyson? Seems like the “people” have made their minds up.
