    What is this?

I've seen similar ends used on like extension hoses that would have a rubber cuff on one end to mate with a machine, and extend it's reach. If you remove the retaining ring by using the two oval shaped slots you should find a threaded cuff inside, you put the retainer over the hose then attach...

Power Nozzles for Central vac or Canister

I like the Wessel Werk EBK360 the best overall, followed by a Lindhaus, then it's between a eureka Vibragroomer III and the Sebo Et-1 I will say I think the Sebo is the most robust of the bunch but that slow brush speed just has me skeptical of it

Eureka Model 10, almost 100 years old with surprising performance.

Oh! good to know, I was under the assumption it was original too. From this ad i'm guessing they came with a black bag?

Recommended cordless stick vac to keep upstairs

I don't really think those low efficiency cyclones and cat litter mix. I used to use a dirt devil reach 360 which had a very similar setup for cleaning up around the litterbox and the filters got dirty quickly. I think a multicyclonic option would have been the way to go. Dysons have been my...

Electrolux (eureka) Oxygen with odd wands.

Saw this ad from vacuum archive and was curious about that weird wand setup It looks like it was only used on straight suction units but man it just looks so weird. I tracked down a manual for the oxygen 6994 which shows it can also be turned in order to more easily reach low places. I saw...

I was more talking about dust seeping through the paper bags but one could attempt to deter that by opening the chamber while the machine is on before changing the bag that way it pulls things in and away from the lip if you crack it just a little.

    Bagged Eureka Litespeeds.

Funny I just had one of those labeled as a Powerline. Someone commented a while back asking me to measure one of the sanitaire variants and then i spotted this at a local thrift store.

They're a very simple solid performing machine. In my experience the older models like that used the same motor, 116884, as the tristar CXL/DXL. Which are pretty good performers definitely in line with other high end options. Definitely don't use that power nozzle on your hard floors it does...

Does anyone keep this hobby a secret?

Yup.... this hobby was discouraged by a parent and it got made fun of by my peers growing up so I tend to be a little secretive about it outside of closer friends and fellow collectors. I think it's just hard to get away from that mindset ya know? So you're not the only one out there who does so.

    Sebo or Miele?

I think Miele has the better cleaning powerhead but for longevity and the cost of consumables I'd choose a Sebo. As for which model. I'd go with either the D or E series. Their airflow is about the same as one another but if memory serves I got more suction from the E3 due to a, i am assuming...

Eureka Model 10, almost 100 years old with surprising performance.

I picked this up from a vacuum shop i used to frequent alongside a Rexair Model B and a Wireless Vacuette. I did want to run my tests on it to see how it would do and the results were shocking. I was expecting 60 or more cfm from it. It far surpassed my expectations for it!

    General Carpet Cleaning

Between the options definitely water extraction. The cycle of spraying down fresh solution agitating and extracting I think is going to give the best result overall. I guess I think of it like this, how do we wash other cloth/fabrics? We wash, rinse and dry. Re-soiling can be an issue which is...

    What is the longest vacuum

Hmm I think the largest machine I've got is the Thermax AF1 It's a little too big to sit on the 17" deep shelves I've got. I don't know how large they are but the Hailey's comet looks rather big, and I think may go well with your vision.

    Bearing Press?

Good news and bad news. The good news the "theft" was accidental, an older person's son had told her a package had arrived, there were two of them in the picture and she picked this one up without checking the address. When she realized the mistake she brought it back and apologized. Not a big...

What names to look for - Scams/Accounts

It's even crazier that someone is stealing identities in order to scam a small-ish community like ours.

    Miele cheapened the 236

Interesting, which video was it he pointed this out? I think they should do away with the 236 honestly. The 228 is able to deal with a greater variety of carpets including those newer soft carpets so it doesn't make sense to me to have a higher trim model that doesn't deal with them as well.

Lindhaus Healthcare Pro Hepa Cloth Bags

There are the M3 bags out there, they do have a shorter cardboard piece to them I'd assume they're meant more for the valzar/DP5 machines which had in the internal airpath, but they *should* work. I had to get them special ordered Part number: 032060081. I started using aftermarket hepa ones...
