    Rob's Tradition restoration...

Fleabay Tradition Ben- Okay, so the fan has a date stamp of "76." Classic III fan maybe? This thing has been taken apart before and "messed with," from the looks of it. I will post disassembly pictures when I start the thread. Rob- Thank you for your confidence! I am sure it will turn out...

    Rob's Tradition restoration...

It Appears To Be. The metal fan, upon inspection, appears to be alright. Of course, I'll know better after installation. It physically is not bent, and it only has two really noticeable chips on it.

    Rob's Tradition restoration...

How Inspiring! I recently just (finally) got my Tradition from Fleabay. it had gotten lost in the mail until a couple days ago. (Ben, this is the one in the video you commented about.) I have many parts to buy, but I'll take my time. Rob, your Tradition is a fine jewel of a machine!

Finally! My Kirby 517 is complete!!!

Good Looking 517! That is a very good-looking 517, sir! It is trimmed in a good color combination. The original combination though would have had a gray bag with a gray cord. Yours has the correct belt lifter on it, though! And all the trim work (handle, headlight trim and bumper guard) appears...

How often do you shampoo your carpets?

I usually shampoo once every two or so months. We have 4 children under 5, and our lot is a dirt lot, so we have a lot of cleaning to do frequently. Actually, we vacuum at least once per day. You can imagine how quickly we go through bags. Lol. We run a Kirby Heritage. As far as the shampooer...

Silly and Useless Question, But I'll Ask Anyway.

Interesting question, but... I think it really just boils down to preference, myself. I prefer a zipper to zip up to close, personally. It's how most of my vacuums, (and let's be honest here, our pants too) operate. Just seems easier.

How often do you shampoo your carpets?

Hey everyone. So, what factors go into how often you shampoo? What shampooer do you use? I use a Kirby Rug Renovator for a Heritage model. It does pretty good.

    "What am I? Chopped liver?"

Wish I were nearby It is a shame I am on the opposite end of the country. (I am in Florida.) That would have been a great event to attend! Sorry it didn't go as intended.

    Kirby G series issues

I would have been curious to know what was causing that brush to stop so abruptly. Perhaps a belt pulley shaft not tightened down properly?? I'm at a loss on that one. Do you remember if the belt had a smooth inside, or a knurled? The smoother inside is made for the "Gen 2" types, aka Heritage...

Kirby Heritage II Legend Airflow Losses

I recently used this Heritage II as a straight suction cleaner on the floor where it created its own mess, and it got everything up on the surface after just a pass-over or two. I took it apart to assess it and see what all was defunct on it, as I am restoring it for a friend. He has had it in a...
