    Kirby green LED

Now that I have one I can experience the Kirby LED myself. LOL I took the head off the motor and just for fun I took the nozzle in a dark room and spun the brush roll by hand. I was actually able to get the green LED to light briefly by spinning it myself!

Hoover constellation questions and vacuum bags

These take Type J bags, nobody makes a synthetic version that I know of, at least here in the states. The 2006+ Constellations took a completely different Type S bag, which did come in a synthetic HEPA cloth. It’s possible to modify one of those or maybe even something else to fit. The bag seal...

    Electrolux find

Thanks for the warning on the Envirocare bags... do you have any you recommend. I've seen some DVC synthetic bags that look like they might work well. From what I've heard I will not be buying genuine Aerus bags. When I took out the tool tray and the filter, I found there was quite a bit of...

Was at a "Community yard sale" this a.m.

Sometimes community sales can be fun. I found my Penncrest Constellation at one!

    Electrolux find

I'm taking apart the power nozzle to clean today. I noticed the headlight lens is very odd. It's a really thick piece of plastic with ridges in it, almost looks glass. I'm not sure the reasoning for this design, all the power nozzles I've ever seen are just flat plastic, albeit with some...

An old friend returns!!! Yeah.😀😀😀 Melvin.

Very nice. I like the gray bag actually, but the lettering of the black one.

Very nice! I see some later 80s or 90s Hoover attachments mixed in too LOL

I am now a (hopefully proud) Kirby owner

I will get to polishing it up hopefully. I did try some Mother's polish I had on hand already but it did not do a lot. I'll probably have to get a buffer or drill attachment to get through the spottiness of it. I also learned from experience how to use the belt lifter and take the floor nozzle...

    Electrolux find

Thanks for all of the info! I looked and mine is C140A unfortunately, so looks like it could have issues. I guess though if everything works, it's over 20 years old so may well be ok. Not a big fan of the plastic wands, in fact they are currently stuck together and won't come apart, nor will...

    Electrolux find

So after that Kirby Sentria find last week, not a week later I've found another vacuum, at another thrift store. I go into Habitat Wednesday during lunch and find an Electrolux Renaissance. I kind of wasn't interested at first because I already have an Electrolux Grand Marquise, and TBH never...

2007 Eureka the boss mini model 442.

I don't remember seeing one like that, usually the yellow and later the white and green.

    Fleas in carpet

I think as a kid we used to put Borax on the carpet once when we got fleas, then vacuumed it up. It seemed to work if I remember right.

    My vacuum sightings

I think those Hoover wet/dry vacuums are interesting.

    Vintage Vacuum Bags

I find it interesting the Kmart bags are pink, like genuine GE bags would be. I like the vintage green Hoover bags, especially the Celebrity ones that have the black plastic collar. They seem to filter better than generic bags.

    my 1995 bissell plus 3553.

I have one also from 1995 but mine is the maroon instead of green and it's 11 amp. I like to use the blue Bissell Febreze bags in these.

I am now a (hopefully proud) Kirby owner

@ Alex, funny coincidince we bought the same machine for the same price today. lol Mine does need some work, some polishing for sure. @ Edgar! I agree, I have not seen any this cheap. In fact, I paid more for lunch in the McDonald's drive thru across the parking lot after I left! I looked at...

I am now a (hopefully proud) Kirby owner

So today I hit up the Goodwill during lunch. Lately the vacuums have been moved from the small appliance area to the back of the store near the furniture. I keep sort of forgetting to look back there until I've browsed everything else. Today I walk back there and see the Oreck that's been...

I'm shot full of shop vacs now

I know some of the older Craftsman Shop Vacs were made by Emerson (as was Rigid). I think I heard the new Craftsmans are made by Cleva (which also makes Kenmore) but I'm not certain. Does anyone know who makes Stealth and HyperTough wet/dry vacs at Walmart? Has anyone had the 2 1/2" handle...

Anyone own a newer Hoover Porta Power?

I hope they keep making them, they are probably one of the oldest designs still in production. And also (to my knowledge) the only Hoover still using the ring lock and latch style tools!
