The Henry Company does in fact sell bags for Hoovers using the old style bag ring. I bought 2 dozen of them a few months ago (what can I say, I have a fear of running out of things) and they are fantastic. I currently have one on my 450 (the one on the left).

What he said! ^ The ones I posted above are Model 450s and made many years after your 700. These are common enough that you may be able to find a parts machine for very little money if needed. The original bumpers were molded but you can just use a strip of black rubber and it would look fine...

I saw this come up on my saved search for Lewyt last night and ended up getting it for $35, and the guy lives locally. Now I just need to find a hose and attachments for it.

I'd be interested in buying the Mothemizer which I think is for an 825, and the bag and paperwork that doesn't go to the 700. At least the shipping would be reasonable. Let me know.

It's too bad you're in England, I'd love to buy that. It looks like a nice complete 700 with just about everything you could hope for and more!

Alex, I meant everything UP TO the 70s, meaning going back as far back as the turn of the century. My primary interest is also the 1920s and 1930s

Thanks for the compliments, guys! I wI'll not rest until there is a copy of every manual in existence (through the 70s, anyway). Tom - I wish the museum weren't 10 hours away, you'd have to kick me out at closing time every weekend! I hope to someday be able to make it out there.

Thanks Alex! It's a great pleasure to be able to share these documents with everyone. Some of them are so obscure or rare, owning an original wouldn't be an option for most people. There may even be manuals or brochures to machines long forgotten, such as "The America" made by the Wise-McClung...

Ben, that's not something I am actively seeking out for my own personal collection, as I don't have any interest in those machines, but I am more than happy to scan one if anybody has one to lend.

Fred, yours is gorgeous! I hope to someday find the manual and dusting tools for mine as well. Phyllis from billing does have great curtains, but what I wouldn't give for the Anniversary Model foil sticker on her 634!

After many, many months of trying, I finally came home with the Hoover Model 634 I have been coveting for quite a while. It was a trade in from long ago at an old vac shop about an hour away from me. It was filthy, so I cleaned it up, polished it, and laundered the bag. I think it cleaned up...
