Thinning out my collection - several machines and parts for sale

Decided to purge some stuff to make room for a few things I have coming in the next few weeks. Starting with a few machines, and I'll post some parts later this evening. Make reasonable offer, not looking to get rich on any of these.

New Photos of My Growing Collection!

I was being slightly dramatic about the SO2. I've heard that it REEKS though!

New Photos of My Growing Collection!

You can't kill them, but they can kill you! Dying from Sulphur Dioxide poisoning in my sleep has been a concern, but I guess it's proved itself after running for 80 years without fail. The stuff on the stove is Mirro Enamelware. The percolator might be a Universal, I can't recall. I have over a...

    Santa Came Early!

...and brought me a Filter Queen model 31! It came with a power nozzle, but I decided to pair it with the one I already had that was new in box. I'm amazed at how powerful it is, over 100 inches of water on my suction gauge, more than any other machine I own. I know what I'll be using for my...

    Electrolux Model xxx

I don't see why you couldn't put a compact or swivel top bag in there and fold the edge under the rim of the cloth bag.

    Hoover Model 105 Plug Type

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. Interesting about the 541, do you have a photo of the 2-piece plug? I've never seen one before.

    Hoover Model 105 Plug Type

Does anyone know for certain if the model 105 would have come with a socket type plug or a blade type plug originally? My 102 has a socket plug but the 105 has a blade plug and I'm questioning its originality. It's right at the point in time where it could have been either.

Facebook Group/Looking for Lux Model L

Thanks Tom, I didn't know about that one. Looks like it's also a closed group (which is a good thing in my opinion. From the description, that group is catered to vacuum cleaners in general whereas our group is focused only on vintage pre-1985 machines. It's nice to have variety!

Facebook Group/Looking for Lux Model L

There is no official group, but there are currently 90 of us in this group I created for collectors of antique and vintage vacuum cleaners. It's the only group I'm aware of devoted purely to vintage vacuums. You are more than welcome to join! http://https//www.facebook.com/groups/vintagevacs/

Looks great! What a fantastic assortment of great machines. I wish I had the room to spread mine out and display them like that.

    Found a Lewyt Electronic

Yes there is a difference. Electrocution = shocked to death. The word was coined in the late 1800s to describe what the electric chair did...execution by electricity. Otherwise it's just electric shock. There is nobody on earth than can accurately claim that they were electrocuted. ;-)
