    Rug Doctor - anyone used?

Mighty Pro I own the Mighty Pro (blue, the retail version--any red versions are not authorized for resale). It is expensive and heavy, but it cleans FAR better than any version made by Hoover or Bissell and the like. As far as extraction machines go, it is definitely one of the best for under...

Royal Warrant LOL I always think it's hilarious when Britons refer to her as "Liz."

    Exclusively Eureka

Wide Track Wow, that thing is a beast! Were it not filthy I would consider bidding just for the novelty of having such a vacuum.

    Oceanblue Vacuum cleaner

Even if the product is sound, the company seems sketchy...I'm not a Rainbow fan by any means, but it can be said of them that they do stand behind their product and it appears to be solidly built. (Rainbow, along with Miele, constantly appears at the top of CR's reliablity ratings).

New attachments for my old Compact

Turbos How funny, I bought that same shop-vac turbo nozzle a few months ago to use with an old Kenmore Magic Blue I used to have--it worked great! The floor nozzle looks nice as well. I currently have the Miele version which looks similar on the underside. It also does a great job--I think the...

    Sebo canister or Air-way

Charlie Well said, everyone has their favorites and I respect your opinion. I honestly haven't used an Air-way, and I'm sure they are great machines. (Last canister I had, however, was a Royal "pony," and they seem similar--that was a great machine). For me, the Miele suits my needs fine now...

    Sebo canister or Air-way

Miele Yes, the SEB 236 is the same in the S5, and the hose connection to the body is much improved--it does not swivel, but feels sturdier and does not leak air. I believe that the early Red Velvet models used the 2-fan 1100W motor and the latest ones, prior to the s5, have the Vortex. The way...

    Sebo canister or Air-way

Miele Floor Tool Forgot to add--just as Andy claims, the new Miele floor tool (parquet) is unmatched--there's simply nothing like it on the market. It swivels in all directions, is low profile, does not leak at the neck, and can lay completely flat to go under furniture. Even though I love the...

    Sebo canister or Air-way

Miele hose With no disrespect to Air Way (and I actually don't know about their hose so I'm just guessing) I prefer the Miele type any day, any time. For one, the hose is very lightweight, so that if one is dusting it won't knock over things on a table or counter. Secondly, Miele hoses ARE...

A machine I got to play with at home

Wow, that is beautiful! And for 40 pounds! I would have bought it in an instant at that price, even if I had to pay an exorbitant amount to ship, except that I don't have 220V. That same Sanitaire here with the comfort handle in the blue line retails at about 350 bucks.

A machine I got to play with at home

Well said, I think the machine is just better suited to certain carpets. As someone mentioned a week or two ago, if Eureka could devise a way to use a cogged belt on this machine, enhance the dial-a-nap, and use a metal fan housing, these would be unbeatable. The main problem I have is the belt...

    kirby g 6

Tech Drive The Techdrive could be a number of things--a broken belt (rare), a mis-adjusted handle mount (where the handle connects to the machine) (most likely cause) or a bad transmission. Worst case, you can get a new tech drive for around 100 bucks, installation isn't too bad. If the...

A machine I got to play with at home

Sanitaire I actually bought one of the heavy-duty Eurekas that Sam's club sells for 140 bucks (7 amp, VG 2) and wasn't too happy with it for the same reason: I think that motor was too powerful, as the brushroll would stop and the motor strain due to the suction. Of course, I adjusted the...

70's Euro electrolux mod. D729 Need Help/ UK Mates

I used to have this exact machine, only in 120V and it was labeled as Viking. It had a Eureka powernozzle.
