anyone wish they could go back?

oh yes I'd love to see some of those old demonstrations. These old vacs I always wonder who had it first? I do have an owners manual for a 2C Kirby with the name of the person who bought it and the month day and year(looks like it was signed with a fountain pen) but I bet that person is long gone.

nice wish I coulda been there. I was 12 then. I think that might have been the year I got my first model 1C and 2C Kirbys for Christmas. They were in horrible shape and they were trade ins at the Kirby Co of Bartlesville- later Sweeper City(I guess the name change because they didn't sell as...

    can this be fixed?

nope i started it up on the foyer rug. it never did that before but then i never left it dormant for so many years before. it only blew dust for a few seconds probably because when i first plugged it in the handle fell against the dust bag on the floor and gave it a good bump
  14. jrdavis

    can this be fixed?

that would be neat i plugged it in yesterday for the first time in years. sounds good. had that strong electrical smell-maybe the motor had some dust in it or something? anyway i never saw so much dust fly from a bag without holes in it when it came to life.

    Couple Traditions with Differences

i have one i have one like that with the locking headlight somewhere around here. i think i only have the floor polisher head that will fit that specific one
  16. jrdavis

    can this be fixed?

switch pics i found a pic with it when it had a switch. i think what happened was the switch chain broke-therefore it wouldnt work
  17. jrdavis

    can this be fixed?

yes this was a long time ago- when the switch still saw there maybe the switch no longer worked? anyway, whenever it was wired without the switch it ran. ok-see the metal ball? that would go between the fork and theres a metal bar you step on and that pulls the chain
  18. jrdavis

    can this be fixed?

? the vac chasing? lol i'd like to seen that. i did figure out a temporary switch
