retrOBrighting some sun yellowed Electrolux 600's

I decided this was the best forum to post this in, as the vacs are over 20 years of age. Some time last year, in a thread about an Electrolux 612, I posted a picture of my 600's. I receieved a few comments asking about the colour of the 615, as it was very badly sun yellowed. This led me to want...

    Vax

I found a youtube vid of a USA vax advert, it was of a 121. The earlier models look pretty much like the one pictured above, so it can be quite hard to tell what model is what unless you know all the little details!

    Vax

As far as I know the first VAX was the 101, 800W, with white tools, hose etcc it had a white opaque washing head [it was 6" wide]. Then the 111, 900W, also with white tools etcc, used the same washing head but it was transparent. Then the 121 900W was the first to use the black hose and tools...

    Vax

floor-a-matic, I'm not sure how well they sold in the USA, or exactly what models you had, if someone knows it would be nice to find out :) Some of my favourite machines too, obviously! Yes Charlie I certainly remember talking on one of my VAX 8100sx videos, the 121 originally had the 900W...

    Vax

Oh shame you don't have the shampoo accessories anymore. They do a great job removing embedded dirt and grit. Up until recently they used to appear on UK ebay in large numbers, however now there doesn't seem to be many. In 1989 they became britian's best selling vacuum.

    Vax

haha Gareth! I didn't realise they were sold in the states either! Well it "looks" like a later model 121, 1000W, from the earlly 90's. It was repalced by the VAX 2000 in about '92. The turbo head is a later one, the original style one is slightly different. The wands look like they are from an...

    Kirby Model C bag hanger

Hello everyone, I would like to make an original style bag for my Kirby model C, but it's missing the original wider bag hanger [aswell as a few other bits!]. I was wondering if anyone has a spare wider hanger they'd be willing to part with? Thanks for any help James

    Numatic/Henry

As twocvbloke said they are very common here. I have quite a collection of various numatics, still on the look out for more though :) Not too bad a vacuum, I like them! They do an airobrush turbo head too which really helps getting pet hair etcc off the carpet. They did do an upright called...

    can i??

I can't see why not Brad. Not sure how well that method cleans, I've never tried it! Personlly I've always used a 3 in 1 machine to shampoo my car's interior. I have also used a kirby to vacuum the insides of my car, just made sure not to suck up any stones etcc Most of which get caught on the...

    Electrolux 612

Haha, glad it worked for you Matt :D Paul, thanks, I believe the 615 was an exclusive model. Im not 100% sure if it is meant to be mustard colour, or just very badly sun damaged etcc. The dusting brush is much whiter, but the "wings" themselves are very yellow. I strangley like it that colour...

    Electrolux 612

Thanks, I can't remember exactly how I fixed the hose, but I think I just cut the hose at the split to keep it as long as possible, then pulled the last little bit out of the cuff/ swivel collar thingy. It was glued in I think, then simply screwed the hose straight back in! Its deffently...

    Electrolux 612

The 612 is one of my favourite 600 series, great find I had a very good condition 612 when I was a kid, think it got dumped :( The hose is fixable! The one on my 610 had split there, I managed to repair it, can't remember how, Somehow managed to get it out of the cuff etc and cut it back and...
