    Numatic Thread

Ryan I did wonder if that was a brush at the front after I posted, couldn't quite work it out. How many Numatics do I have? No idea! Quite a few I would have thought

    Numatic Thread

I also found this picture of an old industrial looking Numatic, with the old logo. Looks like it might have been used to dry hard floors after cleaning. Would love one like this!

    Numatic Thread

Ultimatevacman, Here are the pics of the old style Numatic logo I said I would get for you. First pic is of the old motor out of my George, it is the original model George, mine is from 1993.

    Numatic Cream and brown Charles!

Thanks, I can't seem to get them strange marks off the bucket :( This model is "bagless" as the inlet tube inside the bucket is square, whereas the Henry has a circular one. The filter is quite a thick cloth, also the float assemble cannot be removed from the base of the motor unit similar to an...

    VAX 101/121/2000

To make it worse, the 101 and 111 only have 4 castors, and are very unstable with 3 of them at the back, and one at the front! Certainly a little wobbly. The earlier 900W 121 had 5, but not equally spaced. I think the equally spacing was introduced on the very late 900W 121, or on the 1000W...

    Numatic Cream and brown Charles!

Never seen a cream and brown charles in that particular model, thanks for sharing, must be from 1989/1990 ish. Here is the earlier model in cream and brown, with the square based bucket, and it uses 4 castor wheels. Need the normal blue one now!

    VAX 101/121/2000

I would say the recovery bucket on the 101 is transulcent black, and a 111 actual is slightly different cosmeticlly to 121's, in that the top motor vent is very narrow, but on 121's is much larger, but vintagerepairer is spot on otherwise. Other differences in the washing heads, solution clips...

    Numatic Wendy

Not sure if it was an exclusive to machine mart, but yes it was a green NV250 style machine, and I beleive was the first Numatic to be given a name. I have a picture somewhere in the depths of my pc.

    Early Kirby Flea Market find

Thanks for the extra pics Tyson. Looks in pretty good shape, it should clean up very well :) The rug nozzle is from a 514/515, should have a grey bumper, and it looks to have the full length rug plate? The cord looks like its from a later Kirby, grey with red ends, as are the wheels. $10...

    Early Kirby Flea Market find

A very nice find, well done :) You can re-grease the bearings if you take them out. Clean the old grease out first, then re-pack them with high temperature grease. Hard to tell how original it is from that picture, the wheels and cord look to have been changed? Can you post up more pictures of...

    T cut

Make sure you use a damp rag when using T-cut, otherwise it will scratch the plastic. Use a sperate dry rag to take off once its dried. As Chris said, done use it on an logos or writing as it will be removed also. Textured plastics, like the buttons on Lux 350's etcc don't like T-cut, so I'd...

    Kirby Classic III rebuild

You have to turn the fans clockwise to unscrew, if your looking directly at it. Going by your second pic, hold the armature tightly in your hand to stop it turning, and then try to unscrew the fan.

    Now wait a minute...

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for the info. I did wonder about taking the motor apart this way, but decided I didn't have enough time so left it for another day. I shall try it out :)

    Now wait a minute...

I have also noticed this, and as twocvbloke has said, the fans are pressed on somehow. With only the rear [one furthest from the fan] accessible to be greased. I recently bought a Z550 with screaming bearings. Managed to oil up the rear one, but couldn't find a way to easily get the motor apart...
